Warriors Arise: March 12, 2021
Daniel 6:6-9 (NKJV) So these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: “King Darius, live forever! 7 All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.” 9 Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.
Oh my goodness! Do you hear it? Can you see it in your mind? How are you envisioning them saying, "King Darius, live forever!" Did you see the 1, 2, 3, and done?
The "these" this Scripture is referring to, are the governors and satraps who want to get rid of Daniel. The ones who devised a plan and felt they were ready. They didn't want to just have Daniel's position, they wanted him completely out of the picture. They were spinning a web not only to trap the king but kill Daniel. They made it seem like the king had come up with this all on his own. Since Darius had just taken over, it seems right to have something in place in order for the people to transfer their allegiance from Babylonian rule to the Persians, specifically to Darius the Mede.
They must really think they have some kind of pull, bewitchment to get the king's attention. What helps someone in authority to be persuaded on an idea? The masses. It would appear these governors and satraps were exercising their belief that he who controls the masses has the authority.
Throng is a large, densely packed crowd of people. -Webster's Dictionary
If one needs help in their persuasion, it never hurts to add flattery or a declaration of loyalty, especially to the unknowing of your craftiness. Most of us have used one of these three if not all three to get our way, at some point in our life.
Taking others into the confrontation with you.
Flattery or profession of loyalty.
A lie with a plan.
1, 2, 3 and done. King Darius, not knowing they were lying to him or at least willing to let the lie slide caused his agreement to the request. It is human nature to go along with the mob, the throng. Besides, these were the men he had appointed as his governors and satraps. They should know what would be best for the people he was ruling. They should know how to establish him as ruler and the authority in the land.
Most of us have faced people or the throng who has tried and succeeded in their schemes against us. It is at that time I am reminded of Matthew 10:16-20.
Matthew 10:16-20 (NKJV) 16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. 18 You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
When Jesus was saying this, I wonder if He was thinking about Daniel? Daniel never had Jesus' teachings. He couldn't reference them like we can. He couldn't memorize them so he was ready for what was about to happen. What does Daniel have?
Daniel has a daily conversation with God. Daniel set aside time specifically to pray to God. He positioned himself before God. He made his requests known but his time with God was so much more. No one can operate with such level of excellence as Daniel without knowing God's voice, knowing how God speaks to them, and knowing the very movement of God. Daniel prayed not out of ritual, not for his own glorification. Daniel prayed to be led, directed, guided by God in everything he was given responsibility over. Daniel didn't become excellent because God chose him. Daniel became excellent because he chose God!
The enemy absolutely hates people who have positioned themselves in full surrender to God, the call He has on their life, willing to do whatever God tells them to do even if it positions them to lose their life. The enemy will do everything he can to get rid of those who hear God. But God's plan will be accomplished for His glory.
Psalms 119:89 (NKJV) Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.
When the enemy is devising his plan to eliminate us from our calling, our position, God has already decided the end of the matter. The enemy can plan, lie and get the throng together, but God will have His way if we will agree to operate according to His plan.
Remember, God's plans are for you and I to prosper. God's plans have a good future for each one of us. God's plans lead us out of the enemy's clutches into the fullness of God's deliverance and freedom. God's plans are for you to achieve all He dream you would be and do to expand His kingdom here on earth. God will position You to have a voice to speak and influence to lead others into His presence.
There is a difference from when the enemy says, "Done", and when You say, "It is done". He thinks it is over and when You say it, we know it really is over. I am so glad Your done is what matters in my life. You are my God and there is no other
Father, I am so glad You have a plan for my life. Your plan for my life is for me to prosper body, soul, and spirit. You see the enemy devising a plan against me and You strengthen my heart to stand with You. You see the throngs of people who seek to tear me down and have me cast away but You step in and put Your protection around me. No matter how they lie, no matter how they flatter those in authority over me, You speak words of peace. Your perfect love casts out fear and I embrace Your words of peace. I do not have to be in a flurry to set the record straight. I only have to speak what You say. I will lift Your name on high. I will seek You daily. I will practice hearing Your voice. I will follow-through with what You are doing in me. You are my God and I will choose to seek You every day. I want to be prepared to demonstrate Your amazing power and love. I want to be full of Your wisdom and strength for You are my God and there is no other! You will speak to me and set my feet on a path to demonstrate how You will continue to elevate those who honor You every day in Jesus' name amen.
