Warriors Arise: November 11, 2021
Exodus 19:3-6 (NKJV) And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: 4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. 5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”
Today is November 11th, it is Veterans Day here in America. This is the day we acknowledge those who served in the United States Military and are still living. We acknowledge their service, sacrifice, and commitment to keep America a free nation, a capitalist nation, and one nation under God.
God also wants to be recognized for what He has done. He should have had to be the first one to speak when He called Moses up to meet with Him. Moses and the children of Israel, as well as each one of us should be the first to recognize, acknowledge, and "wig out" about what God has done. He is worth celebrating! All He has done to set us free from bondage and fear is worth our joy and celebration. All He has done to restore our purpose, redeem our dreams, and position us to receive His promises is totally worth our time and energy.
In October, 11th-31st, I did a live setting us up and preparing us for the breakthrough God was bringing. For the Children of Israel is was their freedom from Egypt, from those who kept them in bondage, in slavery. Their lives were not their own. They could not go and return as they pleased. They could not choose where they wanted to live. I love that God says, You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.
Three things God wants Moses to see:
What He did to the Egyptians
How He bore them up on eagle’s wings
Brought them to Himself
In your breakthrough, have you seen what God has done? Not what you wanted God to do, but what God has done. In those three months from Egypt to Mt. Sinai, God did many wondrous things. They were miraculous. However, the things God wants to point out is the freeing all 2.5 million people were set free from the strongest nation on Earth (at that time). He bore them up on eagle’s wings because they didn’t have to fight the Egyptians when they pursued them at the Read Sea, they didn’t have to provide food for themselves, they didn’t have to provide water. God did all of that! He carried them, all 2.5 million! Can you imagine the amount of food and water that had to be provided for all of them to be satisfied. And they didn’t seem to be that easy-going of a group. They were high-maintenance. Then He ends with the acknowledgement of the sign being complete. The sign Moses wanted to verify he was the one to go lead God’s people out of Egypt. God directed His people back to Mt. Sinai to be with Him, to join covenant with Him. He wanted them to embrace Him as their God. He already called them His children but He needs them to want to be His children. Love isn’t love if you don’t have a choice. God displayed His love for His children. He wanted them to see what He had done, take a moment and allow what He had done in the last three month sink in. They should be ready to celebrate.
God didn’t just free them from Egypt. Egypt was a place on the map; however, Egypt represents their place of bandage. They didn’t have freedom of choice. They weren’t able to do what they were called to do. They weren’t able to live where God had promised them. They served another master in grueling conditions. They were slaves. After God freed them, He continued to pour out His love by providing for their needs with food and water, protection, strength to fight the Amalekites, etc. He demonstrated that He wanted to take care of them, provide for them, protect them, and give purpose, restore their dignity, and value each one. God does the same for you and I.
Think back over the last month when we started the breakthrough and crossed over, did you see what God did for you? Take time, close your eyes, and allow God to remind you what He did.
Father, I thank you for Your amazing love for me. You stepped in and turned the situation around. You pulled me out of a terrible situation. You made me valuable. You provided for me when I didn’t have the funds. You parted the waters so I could walk through on dry ground and then told me to shut the door on my enemy. You have kept me from being devoured by my enemy. You have empowered me to take a stand and fight courageously. You have provided for me and my family in ways I couldn’t. Open my eyes to see all You have done to set me free in the last month in Jesus’ name amen.
