Warriors Arise: April 5, 2021
Daniel 6:18-20 (NKJV) Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him. 19 Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. 20 And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel...
I had to look up what lamenting meant. It fits very well in describing the king. He had purposed himself to be up all night, no entertainment, no feasting, and no food at all. He arose early the next morning, not from his bed but from his post, his vigil to hope beyond what he could believe. He hasten to the lions den. He had to know. Did Daniel's God save him from the lions?
Have you ever been hoping for something that was truly impossible. It was going to take God's intervention for it to happen as you hoped for. You hope and tell yourself it will work out. It's going to happen. God will make a way. Somehow, God will act and your behalf. Not because He has to, but because something inside of you tells you to keep believing. Something inside of you says, "Don't give up"! Something inside of You says, "You will see the impossible made possible."
You can't wait to get there, you are about to come undone as the day arrives. The night before you can't sleep in an overwhelming surge of anticipation. The morning of you can't eat because you have to go see. You get your things and out to you. You walk, then run, then walk again. You try to keep a steady pace and remind yourself to breathe.
Just before you get there fear gets the best of you and you aren't sure if you could handle the disappointment. You aren't sure God really did do what you were hoping, what your have been dreaming. Your heart flutters and irregular beat as you tell yourself to breathe. You tell yourself you can handle whatever the outcome. You begin to question whether you heard God or was it just in your head. Was it your own desires that took over and I imagined a better outcome that what God will do? Your heart falters and as you can't go any further. Grief has grabbed your heart and you begin to see you needed a miracle. It wasn't really in the power of anyone to make this change. It was truly going to take God and now you question God. Why would God do this for me? Why would God answer my prayers?
Now, we understand what the king had gone through. He had heard of the miracles of Daniel's God but he had experiences one. Why would God answer his prayer, or pay attention to his all night vigil? He hastens to the lions den and when he cries out to Daniel, his voice falters and everyone hears the kings speaking in a lamenting voice.
Lamenting: a passionate expression of grief or sorrow.
There are times when we position ourselves before God knowing He hears us but wondering if He will do what we are asking. We desire to keep hope alive, as Darius. We desire to be one who is known for their faith. We do all the right things but just as the decision needs to be made our voice reveals that battle in the heart. However, just because our voice shakes doesn't mean we have surrendered our belief in God making the promise a reality. It tells of the battle fo the flesh, the war zone in our mind, the strength in our heart to believe when the situation says we shouldn't. But God, He hears our cry, He answers our petitions, He positions us and things in our life to work together for our good. God is for us to know the height, depth, length and width of His amazing love. He desires of us to know His love, the only love that never fails!
Listen to your voice when you speak of the impossible.
Are you speaking from a position of faith or human reality?
What does it hurt to believe God?
What does it hurt to never ask because you won't believe God?
As Christians what are we supposed to believe?
For Christians to believe less than what we are given is to have an all expense paid trip and never eat any food or enjoy the amenities. We went. We stayed in our room. We watched others through the window enjoy the amenities. We saw the plates of food they were eating. But we never opened the door to receive what had already been paid for, already prepared and provided for our enjoyment.
Father, there are times I have believed right up until the moment where I need the miracle to happen. At that time, it seems like my faith is stolen or hijacked, may heart takes a dive. It seems like every step to seeing the impossible become a reality is taken with great effort as if I am having to walk in wet cement that is trying to set. I ask for You to come and breathe Your life into me. I pray for You to come and minister Your life to me. You are amazing. Know You can do the impossible. I know You will do the impossible when it works out for my good. You are faithful. My position as Your child it to ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, and knock and keep on knocking. The answer is always up to You. I place my trust in You. You know what is best for me. I ask for tenacity to believe the dreams You have placed within me. I will believe Your Word. I will believe Your love is for me as I position myself before You. I will fight against reality of human restrictions and stir up my faith to believe for Your outcome, Your love that never fails in Jesus' name amen.
