Warriors Arise: June 9th, 2020
"Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself." Luke 24:25-27 (NKJV)
It was my full intention to move on in this passage but God will have His way. As I was looking up Scriptures for yesterday's prayer strategy the word "believe" kept jumping off the page. Why do people intervene? Because they believe they are right. Why do people intervene when they know no matter what they do, God is the only One who can bring about the necessary change needed? Because:
they do not believe there is a God,
they do not believe He cares enough,
they do not believe God has the power to intervene with the necessary changes, or
they want to make sure the changes happen the way they think they should happen and those changes may not be what God would do so they strive to make the changes.
When it is the latter of these options we are generally fighting against God, a weapon in the hands of the enemy.
John 14:7-11 (NKJV) If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
Jesus is astounded that his disciples are struggling to believe He is the Christ. Jesus is asking Philip to remember all He has done to reveal the Father to them. But they do not recognize God being loving and caring about individuals. They want God to do something with the government, if Jesus is who He says He is, then be king here, now, on earth. Why go?
John 14:12-14 (NKJV) Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Jesus again refers to believing in Him as the Son of the Father, God in heaven. Those who believe will do greater things than Jesus. What does it take to do these greater things? Believe in Jesus, ask in His name and He will do to bring glory God. He restates what He has just said in verse 14, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." What is Jesus trying to tell His disciples? What is He trying to tell us now?
A Warrior in the Lord’s Army,

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
