Can't Stop Praisin'

Warriors Arise: November 7, 2021

Exodus 15:20-21 (NKJV) Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. 21 And Miriam answered them: “Sing to the Lord, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!”

Mariam was not done praising God. Are you?

Yesterday, we asked God to remind us of other times when He brought the breakthrough. I would like to encourage you to write down the different breakthroughs God has done in Your life. When you document what God has done, it makes it so real. As you write, God may reveal more and remind You of the situation and how He saved You. As I am writing them, He is reminding me of some very rough situations I was in that He brought me out of. I encourage you to write them down. As you write them down let yourself get excited about what God has done. Too many times we can remember the bondage, the hardship, the loss, the devastation and slightly acknowledge the fact that God got us out of it. I want you to remember the situation you were in and how impossible you thought it was. Then I want you to thank God for getting you out, for doing the very thing you thought to be impossible, that you thought would never end, and you thought would be your "forever." I want you to praise God with your own song. Don't squelch your praise. God is so worth it! Remember, you thought you would never be free and here you are free from that bondage. That situation is of the past. That circumstance is no longer. Say this out loud, "I am free!"

Now I would like you to say that for each of the situations you remembered.

  • "This happened and I thought I would be stuck forever, but God intervened and I am free."

  • "I was in a prison and it paralyzed me, but God removed the fear and gave me faith and I am free."

  • "I have no idea how I got out of that toxic situation, but God made a way and I am free."

  • "My mind couldn't see beyond the torment, but God removed the enemy and I am free."

  • "People said I would have to live with the pain for the rest of my life, but God touched my life and I am free."

You just might have to sing your own song when you allow God to reveal to You all of the times He intervened in your life and set you free. You may have to give a shout or grab a tambourine and dance. God is so very good and He is worthy of our praise.

Father, this is so new for me. Why is it so difficult to open my mouth and give You praise? Why is it so awkward to lift my hands and praise You? Why do I feel so out of place when I think of dancing for joy for all You have done in my life? I am thankful and extremely grateful. I want to give You the praise You deserve. I want to be all in with loving You and showing You value in my life and for all You have done. I ask for You to continue to bring freedom to me so my praise is unhindered in Jesus' name amen.
