Warriors Arise: December 7, 2021
Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Jesus came to be the Counselor. A counselor is someone we trust to listen to us and give us options or wisdom for a way to resolve our problem. They help us work through dramatic events. Jesus came being given the authority to be your counselor, and mine. He has the title. Not only that, He has the experience. He was tempted by the devil and overcame temptation. He was abused, humiliated, and people spoke slanderous things about Him. He demonstrated love and they said He came from Beelzebub. They called Him a liar when all He spoke was the truth. He was separated from His Father. He was an outcast and rejected from birth. He had half brothers and sisters. He had people He poured into for years and was abandoned in His hour of need. He was betrayed by someone He welcomed into His inner circle. Not only that, He was betrayed to His face. That is bold! Most of us have been betrayed but they did it behind our back.
There are times when we think someone can't offer us any counsel, because they don't understand our situation. Jesus can identify. He knows what you and I have gone through and the situations that is imprisoning us right now. Jesus can provide the way out because He was destined to be our Counselor. Jesus, as Counselor, has the ability to gives us the tools we need to overcome the enemy. Jesus, our Counselor, will lead us to triumph over the battle that rages against us. Jesus is the Counselor that directs the battle plans. Jesus is the only Counselor who can bring healing to our soul: mind, will and emotions. All we have to do is position Him as Counselor in our lives and we will receive what we need for healing, direction, battle plans, and courage to overcome. Is He your Counselor?
Father, I celebrate Jesus as my Counselor. When I meet with Him, He listens and speaks the truth. He gives me the way out and the courage to overcome. Jesus, my Counselor, lead me in triumph over my enemy. Speak the truth that removes the lies, and gives understanding so I do not make the same mistake again. I turn to Jesus and give Him the position as counselor in my life. I will turn and inquire of Lord when I do not know what to do. I will position myself before Jesus, my Counselor, when the battle rages against me. I celebrate Jesus, my Counselor. He knows what I am going through and He desires me to be free of what entangles me. Jesus, my Counselor will speak and I will listen in Jesus' name amen.
