Did You Fall?

Warriors Arise: March 5, 2024

Matthew 7: 24 & 25 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

I have to ask the question, have you fallen? There have been times in my life when hard times came. Absolutely. Hard, difficult and devastating times are going to come for all of us. There is not question. They will happen.

The question is, "What are you going to do when they come? How secure are you in your faith? If you fall, will you get back up? When you get back up, will you evaluate and seek the Holy Spirit? He will reveal your weakness and why you fell from the Rock of Your salvation?" We are all going to fall at one point or another. You may be surprised when you do fall. The obvious, is because of the devastating times in life. But many times, they can lead us to turn toward Jesus and gain strength to stand, instead of rejecting God.

The times we tend to fall, are the times we do not see the attack. The adversary is tricky. He is very deceptive. When we see the adversary coming we have time to prepare, find the Scripture for that particular attack, and begin declaring the Word of the Lord. When we are blindsided with an attack, we can get kicked around before we even remember which way is up. Even though the enemy kicks us while we are down, he tends to take the time to gloat which give us a moment to regroup. In that moment, we can turn to God because He is our Rescuer.

One of the most difficult attacks is deception. Deception will tell us we are still on the Rock, strong in our faith, and serving with a pure heart when we aren't. Deception leads us to operating in our own strength instead of relying on God's. I have fallen to deception. I thought I was strong enough to face a battle and realized I needed more of Jesus. I realized I couldn't do it on my own. I realized Jesus didn't tell me to do it by myself. I repent and then ask Jesus how we are to move forward to accomplish His plans.

Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I repent for allowing myself to be deceived. You are my Rock. There is no other. You are faithful and trust. Your Word is strong and mighty. You guide me into righteousness. I will follow You. I will look to You and remain with You. You and I are doing this together. I will be led by You. I will not allow myself to be lured away. I willing know Your voice and listen. I will follow Your plan in Jesus Name, amen.
