Warriors Arise: May 12, 2023
Proverbs 31:25 (NKJV)
Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
This verse is life changing. How many women struggle with the time to come? Anxiety sets in, we are unsure if we are saying the right thing, doing the right thing, if our children are doing the right thing, if our husband is doing the right things. We fret over things. We get stirred up like a hornets nest when things don't go as planned. We can be frazzled to the bone, nerves shot and can't remember things from one room to the next. That is reality of most mothers. So, how do we walk in Proverbs 31:25?
Strength and honor are her clothing. This would imply her strength and honor are a part of her. She wears them not necessarily like armor, but they are strapped over her adding beauty to her presence wherever she goes. When she enters a room she is displaying strength and honor. She can handle with grace whatever mishap comes into her day. She is not anxious or insecure when walking into a room. It would also imply she moves through her day displaying honor to those she is around. She isn't griping people, gossiping or being judgmental. She is giving encouragement and clear direction. She honors what people have done and the effort they have put forth. I have to evaluate how I walk into a room. Am I stressed before I even open the door? Am I fretting the outcome? Am I insecure about myself? Am I anxious for what others will do or say? I want to display strength and give honor.
I had wondered why the second half of the verse went with the first. However, when one is fearless of the future, knowing they can rejoice because they believe God is working things out in their favor, it empowers them to walk in strength and honor. They know people are not the problem. People cannot stop what God will make happen. We can rejoice in the times to come, because we believe God. We believe God is for us, truly loves us, and is working things out in our favor, despite what we may be currently experiencing or going through. What we are going through is meant to last forever. It may not seem like it; however, God say it will come to an end and we will be victors. We will triumph. We will overcome. The storm can't last forever. He will come. He is working things out for us. His love never fails. We can look to the future and rejoice in the time to come.
Father, thank You for being so loving. You make all things work together for my good. I am blessed, because of who You are. I am blessed, because You haven't forgotten me. I am blessed, because I know You are for me. I am blessed; therefore, I will walk in strength and honor. I will display your goodness. I will look to my future and rejoice. You make the work of my hands prosper. You give me wisdom and understanding when I ask. Even when I don't ask, there are times I know You have dropped Your wisdom into my thoughts. Thank You for all the times You have brought me through the storm and positioned me in a safe place. I will worship You and display Your strength in Jesus' name amen.
