Warriors Arise: February 21, 2021
Daniel 5:24-28 (NKJV) Then the fingers of the hand were sent from Him, and this writing was written. 25 “And this is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. 26 This is the interpretation of each word. Mene: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; 27 Tekel: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; 28 Peres: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”
Think of your position. Think of your authority and the opportunities before you because of the position you carry. How would respond to what Daniel is telling you?
Peres: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
Devastating for anyone in a position of authority to hear these words. Belshazzar's kingdom will not pass down to his children but the Medes and the Persians will divide his country and he will have nothing. Things can change in a day and you may not have anything to say about it. Maybe you even thought the change would work in your favor or that it would not effect you.
I can't help but think about the pipeline workers who lost their jobs in one day. From President Trump to the day after President Biden's inauguration and these American pipeliners had a steady job, solid income, and excellent benefits taken away from them. In one day they were out of a job, no income for their families and no benefits. Sure, they can all sign up for government aid, but Americans who have developed their trade know the government checks eventually stop and the benefits are never as good as when you had a job. To add fuel to the fire, you see your job go to another country, so someone else, not even another American. That situation can really bite.
You can think the next ruler will be better than the one we had. You can choose to see what you want to see especially when you avoid the facts. America is not ruled by a king but elected officials and legislators. Are we being judged because we allow our country to blaspheme God, kill unborn babies, allow lies to swallow the truth, and neglect our responsibility to be ambassadors of God here, in this time, in our generation?
I pray God will not allow America to be divided. I pray God will call His people and they will answer the call to rise up and be men and women who know Him and walk in His ways. I pray God will protect His people from the reckless behavior of our government. I pray God will supply for His people in the midst of the disaster that has been loosed upon our nation because we, Americans, have joined forces with liars, fraudulent behavior, and those who blaspheme God. One month and one day since the inauguration, God help us.
Father, we cannot do this without You. I ask for You to come and bring Your truth. Forgive me and all Americans for being arrogant with our authority. I bend my knee and lower my head to give You honor. I surrender to You. I pray for each American to surrender to You. I pray we would not give our hearts to another. I pray we would humble ourselves before You and seek You in all our ways. I pray You would strengthen our resolve to walk in the truth. I pray we would honor You in all we do. I ask for You to provide jobs for each American who wants a job. I pray You would sure up our boarders and protect our economy. I ask for You to raise up people who will walk in Your wisdom, who will honor You, and lay the ground work for America to return to You. I ask for jobs to be restored to the American people. I ask for history to be preserved so we do not repeat mistakes that have been made in the past. I pray we would value American lives and livelihoods. I pray we would honor You in all we do and make Your ways known to the world. I ask for You to make a way for Your people to know the truth and live by it in Jesus' name amen.
