Dwelling Place

Warriors Arise: January 6, 2023

2 Samuel 6:1-2 (NKJV) Again David gathered all the choice men of Israel, thirty thousand. 2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, whose name is called by the Name, the Lord of Hosts, who dwells between the cherubim.

Where does the Lord of Hosts dwell? Does that questions stir within you? We live on this side of the cross, the cross where Jesus died for our sins and made a way for each one of us to be filled with the Holy Spirit. When we confess our sins and receive forgiveness, and the Holy Spirit dwells within us.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV) Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

Upon Salvation, we become the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. David wanted the ark to come to Jerusalem because the Lord of Hosts dwelled between the cherubim. He wanted God with him. He went to great lengths to make this happen. He gathered all the choice men of Israel, thirty thousand and went to bring up the ark of God to Jerusalem. He not only wanted God with him, He wanted God close by. He wanted to be in the presence of God. What God had called him to do, would not be easy. He desired to have the ark with him, because the presence of God was upon the ark. You and I have the presence of God through the Holy Spirit within us.

As we have entered into a new year, I encourage you to seek the Lord, pursue Him and be in His presence. Declare your being to be His dwelling place. Allow your mind to be His dwelling place. Make your body His dwelling place. Open your heart to be His dwelling place.

Father, again I come before You. I have allowed my mind to dwell on things that are not of You. I seek Your forgiveness. I have given my body over to fleshly desires. Forgive me for my indulgences that have lead to poor health and laziness. I confess that without Your presence my heart becomes hard. Forgive me. I want my heart to beat in rhythm with Your heart. I want to operate in compassion and agape. You are my God and I desire You, the Holy Spirit to dwell within all of me, in my spirit, in my mind, in my body and in my heart in Jesus' name amen.
