Hard can be really Hard

Warriors Arise: September 9, 2023

Matthew 4:19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me,…"

There was a time in my life I didn't want Jesus to pick me. Life had been hard. I mean really, really hard. He had gotten me through the hard, but I wasn't ready for another round. I wanted a break, a breather, some time to rest and recuperate. I wanted Him to pick someone else; however, I was like the son who said, "No," to the Father's request then got up and did it anyway (Matt. 21:28-33).

Has the Father come and said, "Follow Me"? How did you respond? Was there a time in your life when you told God, "No"? How did you feel afterward?

We will always have a choice. God will not force His will upon us. There is His perfect will for our life. In His perfect will, there will still be trials, tribulations and hard times. There will also be abundant joy, blessing and relationship growth with God. In His prefect will, we will rise up out of the trials stronger and confident in God and accomplish things we didn't think could. We accomplished them because God was with us, He gave us the strength, courage and faith to trust Him.

There is also God's permissive will. He allows us to make choices that are not in His perfect will for our lives. He is good. He is not controlling or confining. He wants to be chosen. Love always has a choice. He wants us to choose Him.

When God offers, "Follow Me," He knows we are going to need Him to teach, prepare and be strengthened by Him for what He knows is ahead of us. He offers us the opportunity to receive the power of His love as we go through each trial, tribulation and hard time. He also wants us to hear Him cheer for us, receive courage and be assured of His everlasting presence in our lives.

"Follow Me," is a forever offer. We are never alone. God is always with us. He is always hearing us, seeing us, and leading us through the dark times and into triumph. You'll never regret getting up and following Him. I have found in the times He has come to me and offered, "Follow Me," He knows what is ahead and will lead me through. He doesn't stop the hard times, but I never have to go through them alone and He always leads me through.

Father, thank You for coming to me at just the right time. Thank You for offering to lead me through the attacks of the enemy and the hardships of life. I am forever grateful You are always with me. You know what is ahead and make sure that I know You will go with me. You lead me through and I come out unscathed because You are with me. I will hear You call and follow You each time in Jesus' name amen.
