Have You Ever Been Constrained?

Warriors Arise: June 12th, 2020

Luke 24:28-29 (NKJV) Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them.

They must have been pretty intense in their request. The word constrained means appearing forced or overly controlled. When I read the second half of verse 29 it doesn't display the two disciples walking to Emmaus as forcing Jesus or being overly controlling toward Him.

Part of me wishes I hadn't seen the news today. My heart goes out toward the people in the 6 blocks that have been overtaken in Seattle by terroists. Sadly, it is our own people on the front lines but you can bet they will soon be funded by offshore established terroists. The police were told by the mayor to leave everything and walk away from the precinct because the people had right to be heard. This has nothing to do with being heard. This is about people wanting to live out the desires of the flesh, taking something that isn't theirs.

Why not let them continue? We let them riot, vandalize, loot without any consequences. There are people in those 6 blocks who were shopping and working. They had no part of this but have not been allowed to leave. I image some of them are afraid that if they want to leave they will be shot in the back. They are being constrained. Do you see? This is a hostage situation. Generally, we would send the police but the police have been told to leave. Is this what you want? Do you want to live constrained? Somebody else telling you when you can go home or if you can go home? Do you want to live in fear? If you say something that someone else doesn't agree with then they can assault you?

Just like with the riots going from city to city, multiple cities at a time, if we do not allow our government to stop those in Seattle, this will happen in every major city in America. And it won't stop there.

Why did I have to see the new today? My heart is breaking for the needless deaths occurring all over America and our world. We prayed for over 8 weeks for the lives of those who were infected with the coronavirus. Thankfully, more and more are recovering than being lost to the virus. I praise God for this! I am so thankful He is meeting people who are battling for their lives and healing each one. We petitioning God to reach down and heal the sick, but the raging of the flesh has caused people to act without thinking of the consequences.

I wrote the title of this blog prayer strategy yesterday. I had no idea what would be going on today in Seattle. People are definitely being controlled, they can't go home because they didn't get the same warning as the police. What if you worked at the high rise across from the police station and you saw all of them leaving? Then in your paralyzed state to try and understand, after the last police officer is seen leaving, you see people moving barriers, signs being knocked down, graffiti everywhere, and this massive guns being distributed. Now what do you do? Do you try to get out? If you do will they kill you? Do you hide? Do you act like one of them, sleep close to the barrier and try to escape in the night? What do you do?

We must pray for those who are being constrained. God will hear our prayers and He will rescue each one who wants to get out of barriers in Seattle. God did it for Peter, He can do it for those who do not want to be constrained.

Acts 12:5-17 (NKJV) Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. 8 Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.” 12 So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying. 13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer. 14 When she recognized Peter's voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. 15 But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.”

16 Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. 17 But motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, “Go, tell these things to James and to the brethren.” And he departed and went to another place.

Father, I know when we have an example in history of what You have done before, we know You can and will do it again. You saved Peter from the tyrant Herod. Herod enjoyed the praises of the people for killing James, the brother of John and was going to kill Peter the next day. You intervened! You sent an angel to walk Peter right out of the prison. I ask for You to send an angel tonight to every person in the 6 block barricade in Seattle that is being constrained, held against their will, held back by fear. Maybe they need to believe it is a vision or a dream, but I ask for each one to be given courage to get up and follow the angel you have assigned to lead them out. I ask in Jesus name for those who are a part of this domestic terrorist group to be put into a deep sleep. I come before You asking for those who were a part of this terrorist group to return to their senses. I ask for You to open their eyes to see this is not going to accomplish a better life for them. The Chaz leaders do not care about others, they are only using them to puff up their numbers. I ask for You to intervene. Jesus meet them tonight as they walk through the 6 blocks. Open their eyes to the devastation they have caused and speak to their minds; this isn't going to get better. This isn't going to resolve anything. It is only going to give them less than what they had. I pray for each one to wake up in their mind, I ask for their eyes to be opened. Maybe some of them didn't realize it was going to go this far. Maybe there were some who thought this was just another protest? Maybe there were some who thought they were going to get an opportunity to loot and go home. But now, they recognize this has gone too far. This isn't what they wanted. In the name of Jesus, I ask for everyone who can be reached, be brought to their senses to also have an angel sent to them to walk them into a safe zone. I ask they see how close they could have been to losing everything. I ask they see the angel and know You sent the angel to get them out. I pray in the name of Jesus for each one to surrender their lives to You. I ask for each one to know You plucked them from the fire and have given them a second chance at life. I pray for revelation and understanding to come to multitudes behind the barricade, in the 6 blocks. Reveal to each one the lies of the enemy, the trap He has lured them into, and the only way out is to follow You in Jesus' name amen.

A Warrior in the Lord’s Army,

My hope is for believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
