Warriors Arise: November 13, 2020
1 Samuel 17:34-36 (NKJV) But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father's sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.”
King Saul had David brought in to play his harp so the tormenting demons would leave but instead King Saul threw spears at David. Still David did not give up.
A young teenager fighting a grown man. Still David did not give up.
King Saul chases after David to kill him. Still David did not give up.
Again, King Saul pursues David to kill him. Still David did not give up.
What is it about David that he refuses to give up? What does he know that we just struggle to get? Two things we learn early in David's life, he was a shepherd, a warrior and a worshipper. As a shepherd he would work long hours alone, taking the sheep out during the day and bringing them back at night. The Bible never tells us that anyone else helped him. It never mentions a brother or a servant helping him. He had hours by himself.
I believe David's tenacity grew from what he did when he was alone. What he did with his time prepared him for his future. He was responsible with the sheep. He took his harp and worshipped God. He prepared himself to be a warrior. The Bible doesn't say he practice his sling shot but to kill a lion and a bear and live to tell the story says he practiced and was an excellent shot. He had hours upon hours of time, day after day in the field with the sheep.
As COVID-19 is taking another shot at Americans, we may find ourselves with more time on our hands. What will you do? Just because David had to take care of the sheep, which day to day was probably pretty boring. He used his time wisely. He became proficient as a warrior with a long shot and was ready when faced with Goliath. He became a worshipper who could silence the demons tormenting King Saul. But what will you do with your time?
We can fill our time with all kinds of things but will those things prepare us for the challenges we will face in the future? People say they need more time in order to have Bible time with God. People say they only worship is on Sunday because they do not have time. Time is the most important gift you and I have. How we choose to spend it directly affects the challenges and opportunities we have in the future.
If COVID-19 causes us to remain at home again will you be doing more home improvements? Will you be drowning in Netflix or Hallmark movies? Or will you be using the time to fight the good fight? Maybe you have been so busy you haven't been able to pray for our country, for healing, for the vaccine to COVID-19 to be created, for justice to take place in our election. Now would be a great time to join us in praying. Just because COVID-19 is taking another swing at America doesn't mean we have to go down on the second punch. We stand and fight the enemy. We tell the enemy he is not allowed to distract us from praying for invalid ballots to be removed from the count and for the American people to be heard through their vote. We cannot be distracted from continuing to pray for revival in the land, the 2020 election to have accurate ballot counting, and the cure for COVID-19 to be released. Now is not the time to give up. Now is the time to press through, use the time we have been given to give God time in prayer every day.
Father, we seek You. We know You are true in all of Your ways. I ask for Christians to be wise and seek Your face. I ask for each one to take on the responsibility of worshipping You, tending to those in need, and declaring justice for the 2020 election process. I pray for the cure and vaccine to remove COVID-19 to be given and made available. I ask for there to be no negative side affects of the cure as well as the vaccine. I ask for You to protect Your people from sickness and disease. Strengthen our immune systems to rise up and defend us from all sickness and disease. I pray we would be aware, ready and go forth to tend those in need. I pray for opportunities to bring peace to those who are in fear. I ask for every invalid ballot to be found and removed from the 2020 election ballot count. I ask for those counting and sorting through the ballots to be honest. I pray for the Holy Spirit to bring conviction upon all who would try to move forward with deception and lies about the validity of the ballots. I ask for the invalid ballots to be marked in such a way they are easy to identify and pulled from the count. We ask You for justice here in America in the 2020 election and in our cities. We will stand in prayer against the wiles of the enemy, the lies and deception will be brought into the light and exposed for the wickedness they have caused. We want America to stand again for righteousness. We want You to be active in our country, leading our leaders with Your wisdom. We want You to be heard by all people. We ask for the lies to be exposed and righteousness to be restored in Jesus' name amen.
A Warrior in the Lord’s Army,

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus, riots, and lies. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
