Numbers 6:22-26 (NKJV)
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
24 “The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’
Listen, God isn't giving you back. Once you are His, you are His. He will keep you. He says you are valuable. He loves you with an everlasting love. There isn't anything you can do that will cause Him to give you away. This is not to be mistaken with things that you may do that hurt him. He hurts when you take His name in vain. He hurts when you choose to hurt yourself. He hurts when you choose to be mean, rude or abusive to others. He hurts when you do not embrace others, but push them away. He hurts when you do not see what He has done for you, because then you can't celebrate with Him. His love for you is amazing. He will keep you.
I remember a dad after his wife gave birth to their baby, "I checked him out. I think we'll keep him." He meant it to be funny or at least I hope he did. I hope there was no consideration in his mind. This does not reflect God's heart at all. God wants you. There isn't a human alive who God didn't want. God already knows He is going to keep you. He knit you together in your mother's womb. He has placed a destiny within you. He has given you a wonderful personality, gifting, talents and future. It gets weird when we make it weird. When we reject what God has given us, we have no idea who we are, what we are to do, and we are unsure of what the future holds. We can't possibly value ourselves the way God does; therefore, we have to return to our Creator. He is the one who knows that plans He has for us. They are good. They are full of purpose and there is an adventure awaiting you.
The Lord has chosen to keep you. His love for you overflows from heaven and pours into every fiber of your being. He is with You. He has chosen to keep you. There is no doubt in His mind. But what about yours? Do you question if God will keep you? Do you serve God, because you are afraid He will give you away or reject you in some way? Do you reject being a part of God's family, a church body, because you are afraid God doesn't want you? So many people leave the church and they are not honest with themselves. I have heard people say, "I don't go to church anymore because of the people." They have forgotten that there is only one human that is perfect and that is Jesus Christ. They rest of us are trying to love God and His people. The rest of us have never declared that we are perfect. I have my good days, but there isn't a day that goes by when I don't need Jesus. There isn't a week that goes by that I don't need the people of the church. Even when I travel, I find a church where I worship God corporately. God chose to keep me and I show my gratitude for His unfailing love toward me by worshipping Him daily in my personal life with Him and corporately with the church. The Lord has said He would keep me. Therefore, I choose to remain with Him.
Father, You didn't give me away. Your love is almost too great! The number of times I have walked away from You, from doing what You have told me, from embracing the future You have for me is too many for me to count. I ask for You to forgive me. Every time You have welcomed me back. Every time You have embraced me. You do not hold me at a distance; you take me in Your arms and let me know I am welcome. You keep me safe from harm. You keep me filled with love. You keep me and I am grateful in Jesus' name amen.
