Warriors Arise: May 2, 2023
Genesis 1:6-8 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
There is a day two. In yesterday's blog, I was talking about how much I enjoy the new beginning of a month. It seems like a new start, another beginning. Then as I read about God's day two of creation something stirs within me. I though Heaven was already created. But here, in verse eight, with Heaven capitalized, it is clearly addressing a place. The atmosphere of earth and the Heaven have been separated. I really can't explain it, but in pressing in for understanding from God, I picture, in my mind, a drop of rain rolling to the end of a leaf. It stops at the very end. Then a smaller droplet detaches from the rain drop. When the smaller droplet separates from the rain drop, there is a divide. The two are completely different even though they were once the same. The atmosphere of earth came from the atmosphere of Heaven. God divided the atmospheres. When astronauts leave Earth's atmosphere, they can't survive without stored oxygen. There is a divide from Heaven's atmosphere and Earth's. They are the same, but no longer connected.
This does not discourage me. I recognize there is Heaven and Earth. The two are separate places. For now, we life here on Earth, but one day we will be with God in Heaven. Even though there is a divide, Jesus instructs His disciples to pray in Matthew 6, "As it is in Heaven, let it be here on earth." There is a way to receive and release the will of God, His desires, here on Earth to all people. Jesus tells us to pray in such a way. I believe we are to rule and reign here on Earth as we see God rule and reign in Heaven. The Earth and all that is in it is our inheritance.
Psalms 115:16 (NKJV) The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's;
But the earth He has given to the children of men.
What do you do with that verse? This is where we connect how Jesus tells us to pray. We can rule here on Earth, as we see God rule in Heaven. We can pray boldly for God to release what He is doing in Heaven to be done here on Earth.
I recognize the divide of Heaven and Earth. I recognize God created Heaven and He created Earth. I recognize He has given the Earth into the hands of people to rule and reign as He instructed Adam and Eve. I also recognize that Jesus gave us an example of how we are to rule here on Earth. We are to learn from how God is ruling in Heaven and then rule here.
Father, I come before You now to learn how You are ruling in Heaven. You have given Your people, the authority to rule here on Earth as we see You rule in Heaven. I want my eyes to see You rule in Heaven. I want to hear Your voice reigning in Heaven. Then I ask for boldness to believe and start to live my life ruling here on Earth. My ruling here on Earth is about taking back the dominion I have given up. It is confidently living my life according to Your plan. It is rising up and being who You created me to be. It is about releasing Your love, Your love that never fails. It is about seeing the fields ready for harvest. It is about seeing the captives that need to be set free and the prison doors need to be open. It is about submitting to You so I can resist the Devil and see him flee. He will no longer occupy the dominion You have given me. I will live according to Your ways and rule here on Earth as I see You rule in Heaven in Jesus' name amen.
