Warriors Arise: April 24th, 2020
How is it that truth can be told and people do not believe it? You can be the one who was right there when it happened and still someone can convince you that you didn't see what you just saw?
Matthew 28:11-15 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
We think life is different now than it was back then, but it isn't. One of the worst things coming out of this pandemic is we do not know what is truth, especially if we are not where the disease is happening. We are isolated in our little pockets of society. Even what we see, we may be able to be talked out of. Those who have seen, may be so affected by what they have seen they don't want to talk about it. It doesn't mean it didn't happen. I know very few military veterans who want to talk about what happened while they were in combat. It is a truth people cannot comprehend, unless they were there. Somehow in the telling it just doesn't seem as intense, so people think it wasn't as bad as it really was.
We are already facing this battle. Those who have been on the frontline of keeping the coronavirus from taking more lives are probably not going to want to talk about it. Not because it didn't happen; but because if you weren't there, you wouldn't really be able to comprehend the terrifying consequences of the disease.
In Matthew 28, we do not know what the guards saw, we only know what they were told to say they saw. Therefore, we know they were to say, "Tell them, His disciples came at night and stole Him away wile we slept." Since we know this is what they were told to say, we know this wasn't the truth about what had happened. I still believe Jesus came from heaven, lived to set us free, died on the cross for our sins and rose again to defeat the devil. Therefore, I believe we can pray and God will hear our prayers.
When those who have been on the frontlines of this pandemic, treating those infected with the coronavirus, don't want to talk about what they experienced, be careful how you judge whether it was real or not, or if your isolation was necessary or not. Each one must do what they are convicted in their heart to do. Just like the guards at Jesus' tomb. They chose how they were going to react, when the tomb opened and Jesus walked out. Sometimes we would rather be known as someone who is a liar or a cheat, than someone who is a crazy and dead. Either way, they were going to be known as liars even if they did tell the truth. Who would believe the truth?
Warriors, the pressure we are facing comes from different places. Individually, we are tired of being isolated. What are we to believe from what the media is reporting? The hospital staff know; they are faced with reality. They will never be able to put into words how terrible this disease really is. So we must press through and pray for God to silence the pot-stirrers and give protection to those on the front-lines. Our current state of living will not last forever. Every war/crisis we have been in, has an end. This too will have an end.
Father, we come to you today asking for Your peace to abound. I ask You to take away the stick of the pot-stirrers, those whose lies and assumptions are putting others at risk. I bind the enemy from causing confusion, rebellion, and slander. I loose the truth to be made known, peace to embrace this trial a little longer, and a clear mind for each person. The enemy wants to flush us out and cause greater division within our country and all over the world; but God, You want to bring us together, united, and release peace. I declare, "Peace be still" to the lies that trigger our rebellion. I declare, "Peace, be still" to fear that paralyzes our mind, preventing us from praying for deliverance from this evil disease and its consequences. I declare, "Peace, be still to confusion that keeps us from seeing, hearing and acting on the truth. I declare, "Peace, be still" the disease to die in the name of Jesus.
God, You are my strong tower and I run to You. I am thankful for Your protection. I am thankful You provide a way out. I am thankful this is not going to last forever. I am thankful You are giving the cure and vaccine to someone and coronavirus will be part of history but not our present. I worship You alone because You are the One who makes all things work together for my good. I praise You, because people are seeing Your hand of protection for their lives. I praise You because people are being healed from the coronavirus. I praise You for sending Your Holy Spirit to minister to those who need to be strengthened and comforted. You are worthy of my praise. I will worship You in Jesus' name amen.

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus.
