Hurry! I Must Know!

Warriors Arise: April 4, 2021

Daniel 6:19 (NKJV) Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions.

God is so amazing! I love how He directed the path of this passage, exploring the depth of Darius and Daniel's predicament. My mind is in awe of how this correlates with Resurrection weekend. Yesterday's blog continues to resound in my mind, "the king arose very early", just like Jesus on the day He came out of the grave! He arose so early that the ladies who were on their way to the tomb before dawn didn't even get to Him before He exited the grave.

Darius arose very early because he had to know. Did Daniel's God protect him? I picture his mind thinking, believing, then talking himself out of the impossible. The haunting voice, "Why are you even going? Daniel isn't alive. Have you ever known those lions to pass up free meet?" Maybe Darius stopped, "I should just send a servant to check. I'm tired. I've been up all night. And for what? To see satisfied lions?" But no, he continues on. If there is a miracle he would want to know and he would want to be the first to declare the impossible became possible with Daniel's God.

Once the decision had been made, in his mind, he picks up the pace. He walks a little quicker. The blood starts pumping in his heart and as his mind embraces the possibility. He starts to walk fast and then to a jog but he can't keep back his hope. He throws off his outer cloak and picks up his garments so they do not get in the way. He is overcome with having to know. He is at a steady run. Daniel couldn't say, "The king...went in haste" if he wasn't running. Darius was running to see, to have his torment end.

Luke 24:1-12 (NKJV) Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ” 8 And they remembered His words. 9 Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb;

Maybe for a king to hasten means the same as Peter running. The king arose very early and Peter after hearing the message from the angels, arose and ran. They both needed to have answers. They both needed to know what to do now. They both had fought the voices in their heads and the torment of the enemy. How can I say that? Because they were human and they needed results that only God could give.

Have you been in a situation, in the impossible, where you needed God to intervene? You needed God to make the possible happen. You had tried everything you could but still, you needed a higher power. That higher power is God, our God who created heaven and earth, our God who made a way to cleanse us of our sin.

  • Our God who rescues us from calamity and gives us the power of overcome adversity.

  • Our God who fights for us, calling us into the victor's circle.

  • Our God who loves us beyond measure and encourages us to achieve the calling He has placed upon our lives.

  • Our God who does not withhold from us any good thing.

  • Our God who supplies for our every need.

  • Our God gives wisdom and understanding to those who ask.

  • Our God who meets us right where we are.

  • Our God whose love never fails.

This morning, of all morning, I hope you will run to meet Jesus. I hope you will hasten to see what God has done.

Father, You are amazing! I run to You. I ready myself to see the miraculous, the new life, the revived life, calling to be restored as Peter, position and promotion to be given like Daniel. I shout with a voice of praise and sing Hallelujah because You are LORD and Savior of my life. Thank You for taking my sin upon the cross and dying a horrible death that I might live with You in eternity. Thank You for every drop of blood that was shed for my healing. Thank You for every step You took in agony to be give me freedom from the clutches of the enemy. I celebrate You! You went through so much for me. You were humiliated and still You took my place. You were slandered and still You took my place. You were in torturous pain and still You took my place. You surrendered You life for mine. I ask to receive the fullness of wisdom and understanding, compassion and purpose, and love and power to overcome the enemy, push back darkness and release Your kingdom in Jesus' name amen.
