Warriors Arise: April 5, 2023
1 Chronicles 16:7-27 (NKJV) On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord:
8 Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
9 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
10 Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
11 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!
12 Remember His marvelous works which He has done,
His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,
13 O seed of Israel His servant,
You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!
14 He is the Lord our God;
His judgments are in all the earth.
15 Remember His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,
16 The covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac,
17 And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel for an everlasting covenant,
18 Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the allotment of your inheritance,”
19 When you were few in number,
Indeed very few, and strangers in it.
20 When they went from one nation to another,
And from one kingdom to another people,
21 He permitted no man to do them wrong;
Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes,
22 Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones,
And do My prophets no harm.”
23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
24 Declare His glory among the nations,
His wonders among all peoples.
25 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised;
He is also to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
27 Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and gladness are in His place.
Do you find it unusual that strength and gladness are together, they are in His place? In what place? Where the Lord is, there is strength and gladness? Where the Lord has been is strength and gladness? Where the Lord is going, there is strength and gladness?
Everywhere Jesus worked the miracles of God strength was demonstrated and gladness abounded. Those who received rejoiced with gladness. Some even leapt through the streets.
I am not surprised to have strength and gladness in the same reference to represent the presence of God, where He is. A few weeks ago, at "The Overflow is Coming Women's Conference" I shared an astounding revelation form Nehemiah 8:10…for the joy of the Lord is your strength. The Lord has continued to reveal this truth. I will share a tidbit of what I shared with the ladies that were present.
We get tired in well doing, because we do not operate in the strength of the Lord. We do not operate in the strength of the Lord because we do not know how to access the joy of the Lord. There is a Scripture we need to read a little deeper to apply it accurately. Matthew 25:21-23 (NKJV) His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
I believe this is referring to hearing the Lord speak this over us while we are here on Earth. In heaven, I am not gong to be ruling over cities, Jesus will be ruling. In Psalms God says, "The Heavens are the Lord's but the Earth He has given to man". We have been given dominion here. We have been told to rule here. Jesus will rule in Heaven. Therefore, I believe the "Well done, good and faithful servant," is God speaking to us while we are here on Earth. He is giving us affirmation and expanding our dominion as we do well with what He has given into our hands to do. When we hear the Lord speak this to us, entrusting us with more and commissioning us for what's next, there is the possibly of having the joy of the Lord. The final piece of having joy in our life is when we agree with the promotion and responsibilities the Lord has just given us. Then we "enter into the joy of the Lord." This is agreement with what God has for us next is the joy of the Lord that becomes our strength.
There are so many things I can do, when I believed my dad will be pleased with me. When I believed that he thought I couldn't accomplish something, I was filled with joy to go accomplish it. God says this to each one who is utilizing the gifts and talents He has given them to produce fruit for His kingdom. When we do what pleases the Lord, we in turn, are filled with joy at the pleasure He gets from what we have accomplished with what He has given us.
Strength and gladness are in His place. We may not see God but we should see strength in each believer, we should see gladness for they should know what pleases Him and do it. People see God when they see His strength in us. People see God when we release gladness by doing what is pleasing to Him.
Father, it is easy to see You. You are strength. You are gladness. You are joy. You fill my life with opportunity to demonstrate Your strength. My heart is overwhelmed when I know I have made You glad. I delight in pleasing You. Your joy make me strong. My heart overflows with gratitude. Thank You for giving me the opportunity to represent You. Thank You for giving me talents and responsibilities to make You proud. Thank You for the opportunity to release Your kingdom here on Earth and expand Your family. I pray I walk in boldness and joy so I have the courage to do what You have placed in my hands to do and the joy to bring You delight in Jesus' name amen.
