It's Time to Shout!

Warriors Arise: April 27, 2023

1 Chronicles 16:7-36 (NKJV) 7 On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord:

8 Oh, give thanks to the Lord!

Call upon His name;

Make known His deeds among the peoples!

9 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;

Talk of all His wondrous works!

10 Glory in His holy name;

Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

11 Seek the Lord and His strength;

Seek His face evermore!

12 Remember His marvelous works which He has done,

His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,

13 O seed of Israel His servant,

You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!

14 He is the Lord our God;

His judgments are in all the earth.

15 Remember His covenant forever,

The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,

16 The covenant which He made with Abraham,

And His oath to Isaac,

17 And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,

To Israel for an everlasting covenant,

18 Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan

As the allotment of your inheritance,”

19 When you were few in number,

Indeed very few, and strangers in it.

20 When they went from one nation to another,

And from one kingdom to another people,

21 He permitted no man to do them wrong;

Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes,

22 Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones,

And do My prophets no harm.”

23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth;

Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.

24 Declare His glory among the nations,

His wonders among all peoples.

25 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised;

He is also to be feared above all gods.

26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,

But the Lord made the heavens.

27 Honor and majesty are before Him;

Strength and gladness are in His place.

28 Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples,

Give to the Lord glory and strength.

29 Give to the Lord the glory due His name;

Bring an offering, and come before Him.

Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!

30 Tremble before Him, all the earth.

The world also is firmly established,

It shall not be moved.

31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;

And let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”

32 Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;

Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.

33 Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the Lord,

For He is coming to judge the earth.

34 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!

For His mercy endures forever.

35 And say, “Save us, O God of our salvation;

Gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles,

To give thanks to Your holy name,

To triumph in Your praise.”

36 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel

From everlasting to everlasting! And all the people said, “Amen!” and praised the Lord.

How would you respond? When someone is encouraging you to take your turn to praise the Lord, to tell others even foreigners about God, how do you respond? Do you think that is for someone else? Are you reserved and unresponsive? I understand being an introvert. According to tests, that is what I am. However, Holy Spirit compels me to be compassionate toward others and share my testimony so they have the opportunity to know God. It always strikes me as odd when someone says they know me and think that I am bold and courageous. Even when it is a God-thing, I have to come from His presence to have the guts to do what He has called me to do. It doesn't come easy from the natural make-up of who I am. It comes "natural" because I am compelled to love my God and bring honor to HIs name by stepping outside of myself. I have to make myself not remain silent. My silence could mean their damnation to hell, their miserable life here on earth, or their bondage. I know what God can do, because I have seen what He could do in my life and the lives of those with whom I have had the opportunity to pray and point to God's Word.

Here in this passage, David is exhorting them to make God priority in their life; to live to bring honor and glory to Him, to tell others of God's greatness, and worship God only. Then all the people, probably even those who were not listening anymore, gave a shout, "Amen!" You know when your mind wanders or you are looking away, then everyone cheers so you quickly scan what has happened and join in the shout. It is time to shout for the Lord, He is good and His mercies are new every morning. He goes before us and surrounds us with His protection and love. He has given us Holy Spirit to counsel us and direct our path. He works things out in my favor. He desires to be with us, every moment of every day. He is worthy of my praise. He is worthy for me to come outside of my introverted self and give a shout. I cannot allow myself, how I was created, to stop me from giving God His worship. I will shout praises and hallelujahs to His name for He has done great things in my life. The battles are strong and tiring, but God is stronger and gives me strength to rise up and continue in His plans. He is amazing. I will give a shout! I will praise His name! I will give Him everything. I will shout to the Lord for He is good!

Is life without trials? No.

Is life without pain? No.

Is life without times of doing what is not comfortable? No.

Is life without conflict? No.

Is life without trauma? No.

Is life without disappointment? No.

But, my God walks me through the darkness. Amen!

My God pulls me out of the muck and sets my feet on high ground! Amen!

My God gives me hope in the midst of disappointment. Amen!

My God tells me there is a way out. Amen!

My God gives me wisdom how to handle conflict and leads me into triumph. Amen!

My God heals my pain. Amen!

My God gives me courage and boldness to do the uncomfortable. Amen!

My God pulls me out of the trauma and heals my soul. Amen!

I will shout to the Lord for He is my God and He will never fail me, because He is love. His love abounds in my life. He makes everything work together for my good and His glory. I do not like the difficult times, but to God be the glory as I follow Him and watch as He restores me to what He has for me.

Father, You are amazing. The way You love me, the way You take care of me, the way You meet me in the middle of my need, gives me strength to rise up and walk. I will declare the goodness of all that You are to me. I will remember the works of You hand in the Bible and in my life. I will lead my children to know You, trust You, and honor You in the midst of the challenge. We will declare Your works and give you a shout of praise, honor, and victory! You are my King, who leads me into triumph. I will lift up Your name with a shout of praise in Jesus' name amen.
