Know, See, Hear Greatness

Warriors Arise: April 1, 2023

1 Chronicles 16:7-25 (NKJV) On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord:

8 Oh, give thanks to the Lord!

Call upon His name;

Make known His deeds among the peoples!

9 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;

Talk of all His wondrous works!

10 Glory in His holy name;

Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

11 Seek the Lord and His strength;

Seek His face evermore!

12 Remember His marvelous works which He has done,

His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,

13 O seed of Israel His servant,

You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!

14 He is the Lord our God;

His judgments are in all the earth.

15 Remember His covenant forever,

The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,

16 The covenant which He made with Abraham,

And His oath to Isaac,

17 And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,

To Israel for an everlasting covenant,

18 Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan

As the allotment of your inheritance,”

19 When you were few in number,

Indeed very few, and strangers in it.

20 When they went from one nation to another,

And from one kingdom to another people,

21 He permitted no man to do them wrong;

Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes,

22 Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones,

And do My prophets no harm.”

23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth;

Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.

24 Declare His glory among the nations,

His wonders among all peoples.

25 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised;

He is also to be feared above all gods.

The Lord is great! I am going to have to ask:

  • Do you know the Lord to be GREAT in your personal life?

  • Do you see the Lord being GREAT in the lives of those around you?

  • Do you see the Lord's being GREAT in the circumstances your life?

  • Do you hear others speaking of the Lord's GREATNESS in their lives?

If you and I do not have a few yes's to those four questions, it would be difficult to praise the Lord greatly. Remember back over the last seven days. Write down:

  1. The things the Lord has done that are great in your personal life.

  2. The things the Lord has done that are great in the lives of those around you.

  3. The things you see where the Lord has been great in your circumstances.

  4. The things you hear others speaking of the greatness of the Lord in their lives.

To be great, you have to have done great; therefore, if You believe the Lord is great, where is your evidence? This is what the world needs to hear. The world does not need to hear all of your problems, whining or complaining. The world needs to hear about the greatness of God in your life. It is not bragging about you, it is testifying of what the Lord has done. It is showing gratitude and thankfulness to God. It is revealing to the world how great our God is to His children.

Father, I ask to be bold in testifying of Your greatness. I pray for my eyes to be open so I see what You have done in my life. I ask for my eyes to see the great things You are doing in the lives of others. I want to see Your hand involved in my circumstances that reveal Your greatness. Open my ears to hear of the greatness You have done in the lives of others. I will praise You. I want to see everyday where You are doing great things in my life and in the lives of those around me. You are great and greatly to be praise. I want to know, see and hear of the great things You do, so I can give a shout of praise to You. Open my eyes to see and my ears to hear in Jesus' name amen.
