Warriors Arise: January 21, 2021
Daniel 5:1-4 (NKJV) Belshazzar the king made a great feast for a thousand of his lords, and drank wine in the presence of the thousand. 2 While he tasted the wine, Belshazzar gave the command to bring the gold and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple which had been in Jerusalem, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them. 3 Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple of the house of God which had been in Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. 4 They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.
Is anybody else thinking, "Yikes! What are you doing?" Those who have a healthy fear of God would know we honor the things dedicated to the Lord, not defile them. We do not praise the gods of gold and sliver, bronze and iron, wood and stone. We praise God, the One who created heaven and earth, the One who gives wisdom to those who ask, the One who makes a way when there is no way, the One who takes down nations and frees His people, the One who walks on water and heals every disease. We praise God because we remember what God has done, can do, and will do to those who defile and stand against Him, and for those who will honor and stand with Him.
I really didn't want to write from this passage. I was praying for the past couple of weeks on what would be next. Last night I shared with my husband my concerns and we prayed together. The entire day I found myself in prayer at every turn. When I sat down to write, I started but I couldn't get the flow. Again, God intervened and I would not be finishing the passage we have been going through. I deleted everything, "Ok, God, I have tried all day to listen for Your direction. I knew You were wanting me to go somewhere else but I haven't heard where."
He reminded me of the writing on the wall, Belshazzar, Nebuchadnezzar's grandson. He knew better but chose to dishonor God and the judgement of God came upon him. "Is that really where You want me to go." Nonbelievers think that if it will benefit them they can through a few verses around and reference the church without hurting anyone. But they bring dishonor upon themselves and those around them. They also challenge God. Who but God would know they are a liar and deceiving people.
Psalms 44:21 (NKJV) Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
We may not know the truth in a situation but what we can be sure, is that God knows. He sees and He will do something about the lies of the wicked and vindicate the righteous. God will act on behalf of His people.
Proverbs 15:26 (NKJV) The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord, But the words of the pure are pleasant.
Proverbs 21:2 (NKJV) Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.
Those who throw out a Bible verse to make people think they know something about God actual reveal their lack of knowledge of God. Do not be deceived by someone who throws around a Bible verse and declares their allegiance to having some church knowledge. If their life doesn't line up with what is coming out of their mouth then you must recognize the lie. I would rather a nonbeliever reject the Bible than to blaspheme my God by giving the impression they are something they are not. People who deceive have aligned themselves with the deceiver, the father of lies, Satan, himself. When would you know if they are telling you the truth?
Galatians 6:7-8 (NKJV) Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
We, as God's people, are not to be deceived. The only way to know the truth is to seek God in His Word. When we see God in His Word we will see God in our world. He will be with His people. He will restore what was destroyed.
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
We must pray.
Ephesians 6:10-13 (NKJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Father, I position myself before You this day to take a stand against the enemy. I pray in the name of Jesus for the strength of Christ to be in me. I pray for the wisdom of God to lead me. I pray for the Holy Spirit to guide me in all of my ways. I ask for You to give me fortitude to continue to fight for the takedown of the enemy who seeks to destroy the lives of the unborn and buy people's loyalty. Thank You for the protection, provision, and purpose of the righteous. I don't know what You are up to but I know You will fulfill Your Word. We will pray, stand and fight in the spiritual realm for Your will to be established here on earth. You desire for Your people to protect the unborn, to restore what what stolen, and set the captives free. I pray Your people would rise up in prayer and seek Your face. We will stand. We will declare the truth. We will ready ourselves and stand firm against the enemy. We will know Your Word so we recognize the lies. We will not allow our ears to be tickled by the deceiver. I pray for every lie to be exposed in Jesus' name amen.
