Warriors Arise: November 1, 2022
Psalms 34:1-4 (NKJV)
I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
There are times when I think I can do something. I think, "No problem. This will be easy." But when it comes down to it, I struggle. I can't follow through. This month, I want to be held accountable so I am going to blog in order to keep myself on track with what I feel the Lord speaking to my heart. Would you join me in a month of giving thanks to God?
I want to be held accountable, because it can be so easy to fall into vain repetitions when we are giving God praise. We don't realize that we thank Him over and over for the same thing. We fail to recognize the new thing He has done in our life. But Scripture tells us God is doing a new thing in each and every one of us. Jesus is pretty passionate about how we are to pray to God and how we are not. He tells His disciples, "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words." (Matt. 6:7)
I do not want to offend God, because I can't see what He has done for me today. I am truly thankful for my Salvation; however, there is so much more, in addition to my Salvation, He has done that I need to thank God for. Before I was saved, God was with me. After I was saved, He continues to be with me. I am asking God to open my eyes to see Him in each day.
In church Sunday, I shared an exhortation. Do you recognized God is already in Your tomorrow. God knows what is going to happen tomorrow. He is already making plans and provision for what will be going on in your life tomorrow. He goes before us and makes a way. He sets things in motion that we do not even know are needed. He is not surprised by what we are involved in today, because He has already been here and seen it. He is in your tomorrow, making the crooked places straight, bringing water to the dry lands, and making a way when there is no way.
We can miss the importance of why we need to thank God. It isn't because He has a low self-esteem and needs to be worshipped. It is because our worship, praise and thankfulness toward God positions Him more accurately in our lives. We see Him more vividly. We hear Him more clearly. Our view of Him is more accurate. Then our thoughts will align with His thoughts. Our ways will align with His ways. We will become all He has called us to be. We will release His kingdom here on earth. We will trust God to do what He said He would do. We will operate in faith, because we see God as He is, all loving, all knowing, and all powerful. For those with an accurate view of God, they will understand there is nothing impossible for our God. We need to establish in our life the grandeur of God. He goes before us. He comes behind us. He generously gives wisdom, even when when don't ask; but it tells us in His Word when we ask for wisdom, He will give it liberally. Why will you magnify the Lord today?
Father, I magnify who You are. Expand my mind to comprehend Your greatness, Your love, Your power, and Your wisdom. You have always made provision for Your people. You have always loved beyond measure. You have loved when we were not loving. You have given wisdom when we have not asked. You have shown Your power when the enemy has tried to cause us harm. I will praise You and thank You for all You have done in my life. I will lift the Lord my God up in thanksgiving and praise. You are my God and there is no other. Thank You for caring for me and giving me the opportunity to see You and choose You. You are worthy of my praise. I will lift Your name on high in Jesus' name amen.
