Made New

Warriors Arise: November 24, 2022

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

This hits me on so many levels. I am thankful Christ came for me and for you. I am thankful I have had the privilege to know of His goodness and the childlike faith it took for me to confess my sins and receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. There is no greater treasure, than my Savior, who made a way for me to be made new.

I am incredibly thankful, by God's grace and my pursuit to become all He dreams I would be, that I am not who I was yesterday, last month, last year, ten years ago, etc. I am thankful His Word is alive and active in me. I am thankful for understanding of His Word. I am thankful His Word reveals His unmeasurable love for me and for you. I am thankful for the relationship I have access to the Father and the presence of the Holy Spirit. I am NEVER alone. He always gives me direction when I position myself before Him and listen. As I learn from Him and apply it to my life, the old me is but a shadow of who I am today.

It breaks my heart to see Christians who are still living their old life. I am not talking about returning to their sinful life. I'm talking about trying to live the new life He offers, as they lived their old life. Yes, Jesus wants us to come just as we are, but He wants us to live as new creature. He wants us to leave at the cross the yuck of who we are, what we have said, the things we have done and be cleansed. He wants us to embrace the new life where we have allowed Him to turn up the heat and skim the dross off the top. He wants us to allow Him to be the consuming fire to burn away the wood, hay and stubble that prevents the purity of His gold within us. He wants to reveal to us and the world the precious gems of rubies and diamonds that are a part of our personality, behavior and character. We are to sparkle and shine when we come from the cross, because we have been made new. Our lives are to represent the work of the Father's love within us. We leave the rubble at the cross and the heat of the moment to soften us, to purify the gold or apply the pressure needed for diamonds to be formed.

I am thankful God desires for you and me to come from the cross and live again, live the abundant life Jesus died to give us (John 10:10). The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy; while God meets us at the cross to remove, recreate and restore us to be prepared to achieve the dreams He has for us. He wants us to succeed and shine brightly for HIs kingdom. He needs us to receive the restoration and live it out boldly so others have hope in what He will do in their lives. God has made us new. Leave the old at the cross and be who God created you to be.

Father, You are amazing. I am thankful I do not have to remain who I am. You have made me new. I an thankful I do not have to remain in the mindset I had. You have given me the opportunity to renew my mind. I am thankful I do not have to remain as I am. I am thankful You receive me, cleanse me, and make me new. I am thankful when I leave the cross, I do not have to carry the things I brought to You. I am thankful I walk away from the cross being made new by You love in Jesus' name amen.
