Multiplication

Warriors Arise: May 5, 2023

Genesis 1:20-23 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

God had a plan and it all worked together. After there is vegetation and light to bring forth continual, seasonal, growth and fruit on the vegetation, God created living creatures, birds above the earth, and living things that move in water. He filled the land with living creatures, the air with birds and the waters to abound with living things that move. Then he commanded them to be fruitful and multiply. Just like He created the vegetation in fruitful form and commanded them to bear seed each to its own kind, so there would be an endless cycle of vegetation; He created the animals and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply so there would generational creatures. God thinks expansion. These must be fruitful and multiply for earth to sustain life. If there was only one zebra, when the lion ate it there would have no more. If there was only one tree the giraffe would eat and then there would be no more. How would one whale find the food it needed to sustain life if there wasn't a continual supply of food? It wouldn't; none of them would. God didn't create to have what He created end in a matter of weeks. God created and commanded what He created to be fruitful and multiply, to last and keep on lasting.

He created, commanded each to be fruitful and multiply then watched it continue to produce after it's own kind, contribute to the cycle of life, and expand in the sphere it was created. This applies to each one of us. God didn't stop creating. In Pslam 139, we are told God knit each one of us in our mother's womb. We are told in Jeremiah 29:11, God has plans for us and they are good. We are to be hopeful in what God has for us, expectant for His plan to take root and produce in our lives. God's desire is for multiplication in each of our lives. Multiplication of the goodness of Him from within us toward others, multiplication of our acts of kindness and compassion, multiplication of gifts and talents, multiplication of our impact from local to national, to worldwide. Multiplication is God's way of doing math! Let's join Him!

Father, You enjoy creating and having Your creation continue to grow, bloom, produce and contribute to the power You have placed within to sustain beautiful life. I pray to have your mind of multiplication. I pray to learn what I am to produce and teach it to others. I pray I would have others to pour my life into so they will carry on. I pray I would see the potential in others and believe for each one to operate in the gifts, talents, fruits of the Spirit and empowerment of the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. I pray I would develop what You have given me and seek to join others as we grow, produce, and expand Your kingdom here on earth in Jesus' name amen.
