Warriors Arise: January 11, 2021
Joshua 3:4b (NKJV) ...that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.
I was reading back through Joshua 3 and 4. The words written above stopped me from going any further. Now that I look at it above I see it is Joshua 3:4. Very cool! But I have learned coincidences like that mean the Lord is trying to get my attention. There is something here specifically He wants to reveal.
Leading into what I have quoted above, Joshua is telling the people to follow behind the ark of the covenant. He is very specific in how far behind they are to follow.

2020 was traumatic for so many people and many are ready to throw in the towel on 2021. I saw a quote on January 7, 2021, "Thanks for the free 7 day trial. I have decided I do not want what you have offered. Come take it back." It made me laugh initially but then I realized I didn't want to condemn the whole year because of the first 7 days. I wasn't willing to let the first 7 days of the new year dictate the rest of the year. I believe God can change the course of any event, any person, any catastrophe and turn it around.
Course of any event: Daniel in the lions den. He surely would have died if God had not intervened. Not today Satan!
Course of any person: Saul on the road to Damascus to beat and imprison Christians and God intervenes causing Saul to hear His voice and turn his life over to the One true King, Jesus Christ. Saul become Paul when God intervenes. Not today Satan!
Course of Catastrophe: Then in 2 Chronicles 20, Moab, Ammon, and Syria have declared war against King Jehoshaphat. King Jehoshaphat seeks the Lord and proclaims a fast for all of Judah. God told them to go to battle and put the worshipers in front. They worshipped and and played music all the way to the battlefield. When they got there every one of the enemy warriors was dead. God intervened. Not today Satan!
I understand things do not look good for America and her people. However, I believe God wants His people, more than ever before to seek Him in prayer. What if we prayed:
"Shut the mouths of lions." and those who seek to devour us can't.
"Speak and we will follow" and we will be able to see where to go in the midst of this darkness.
"Defeat our enemy who seeks to destroy us" and we will return established in the promises of God.

When the Bible was written it did not have chapter and verses. These were added in. Sometimes when I am reading a particular verse I put a pause in a different place and it totally changes the way I see the verse.
Joshua 3:4b (NKJV) ...that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.
This verse has me captivated. What sticks out to me? "you must go" Before this phrase it is talking about following the ark, the very presence of God on the mercy seat of the ark. After "you must go" reveals I have no idea where I am to go because I have not been there. But God will lead the way because God has been there. He knows where I am supposed to be. He will lead me if I will follow Him.
The struggle within has been very real this week. The Lord is drawing me to seek Him, seek Him and follow Him. It is urgent. I must go.
If I do not go then I am overwhelmed with the threats of the enemy. He wants to flaunt in my face that he has defeated America, taken her captive, and will make her pay. But God steps in, "You must go. Follow Me. You have not been to this place before." I have not seen evil like I see it now. I thought coronavirus was evil. I thought the looting and rioting was evil. I thought the lockdowns and pandemic were evil but they were just the beginning of the enemy's plans. But God is calling His people, "You must go. Follow Me so you know the way to go." Those who will take a stand against the enemy must follow God. People this battle isn't over, what happened in 2020 should have conditioned us to be ready for the spiritual battle we must fight right now. We are to be a part of the battle, "Not today Satan!"
We cannot surrender at this point. God still has a plan. We are to petition Him to intervene for America, for her people and for those who believe. We do not know what God can do but if we will go and follow Him the waters will part and we will walk through on dry ground.
Father, I ask for You to come and speak to Your people. We have not been this way before. We have not seen the lying, treason, and scandals as have been revealed over the past 3 years. While they were pointing the finger at the president, everything else was pointing at them. I ask for You to intervene. I ask for You to turn this around. I don't know how but I know You can. I ask for You to make a way when there seems to be no way. I ask for Your will to be done in Jesus' name. I ask for Your Word to be true. I ask for You to open up the waters so Your people can get through. I ask for people to hear Your voice and listen. I ask for people to see You move and follow. I ask for people to call forth Your plans and they become a reality. I ask for the deeds done in darkness to be be exposed. I ask for Your kingdom to come, Your will to be done in Jesus' name. We should be ready, now it is time to follow You, to go, and engage in the spiritual battle; one we have passed by before. I pray for endurance for the battle. I pray for fortitude to stay in the fight. I pray for Your Word to be ready on our lips to declare Your plans. I pray for You to lead us into victory in Jesus' name amen.
