Warriors Arise: April 10, 2021
Daniel 6:20 (NKJV) And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
The king wanted to know. He had blessed Daniel before he was cast into the lion's den. He had declared Daniel as one who continually served God and that his God would deliver. Even though he declared it, he still knew the ultimate decision was up to God. We can't will God to do things we want done, but we can speak those things that aren't as though they are (Romans 4:17).
Even if our mind cannot wrap around the miraculous we ask God to do, doesn't mean the that our heart will give up. Darius wanted to know, would God intervene on Daniel's behalf.
I remember when our middle daughter was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. She started out in the best of the best circumstances but according to the doctors, after the first dose of the second round she was in the worst of the worst cases. They didn't have anything else they could do for her. She would need a bone marrow transplant. The odds were not in our favor.
People would come up to us, "I can't believe God would allow this to happen to you." I don't know what I was thinking but I popped of a Scripture, "It rains on the just and the unjust." These were people we had taken through our To Be Like Him discipleship class. They knew we believed in the love of the Father, the resurrection power of Jesus Christ, and the leading of the Holy Spirit, but they still wanted to know.
They wanted to know how we were going to deal with this. How would we get through it? What were we going to do with the rest of the children while we focused on our daughter's needs? What was the next phase? Who would be the donor for the bone marrow transplant? Would we explain to our daughter her less than 50% chance to live? You see, not many make it to their 100 days after the transplant. I was blogging to get the warriors to pray with us. People wanted to know. They wanted to know how we were dealing with this. People wanted to know what they could do. I blogged because I couldn't keep up with the phone calls and focus on our daughter. She needed me to be 100% present with her, representing Jesus, the Strong Tower. She needed to see me positioned at my Father's feet. She needed me declaring, "Your God will deliver you."
People want to know if the God we serve is worth their devotion. How we stand in the face of defeat is to be the strength the person who watches stands upon. People want to know if we believe what we say. God will save. God is all powerful. God's love never fails. God's peace surpasses all understanding. God's joy is our strength. God's Word cuts down the lies of the enemy and frees us from bondage. God is present with us. God is making a way out. God is leading us us to victory.
People want to know if you and I live what we say we believe.
Father, I ask for You to come. I want what I believe to line up with my life. I want my words to declare Your desire, Your will, Your power, Your love. Maybe Darius wasn't sure what You would do but He called upon You anyway. He declared You would do what he couldn't. I want to have faith to believe that when I can't accomplish a task or what I can do isn't going to get me to the dreams You have for me that You will step in and make a way. I ask for Your strength to give me hope. I ask for Your peace to give me sure footing on Your Word. I ask for Your presence to protect me from the lies, deception, and the envy-sayers. I ask for Holy Spirit's gift of faith to rise up in me. I pray I will not waver but stand upon Your love. I pray when fear shows its ugly head that I run into Your arms and receive Your perfect love that casts out all fear. You are my God and there is no other. You have called me to be a light in the darkness. I will not hide my faith, the light of Christ in me. I will let it shine. I will not be afraid to declare the power of God. I will take a stand and position myself to be a conduit of Your power in Jesus' name amen.
