Positioned for Peace

Warriors Arise: December 2, 2022

Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)

You will keep him in perfect peace,

Whose mind is stayed on You,

Because he trusts in You.

You and I have the opportunity to be in perfect peace at all times, in all circumstances. It takes practice, because it is not natural. We have to train our mind to stay in tune with the Lord. Do you remember the last time you got into a vehicle and the radio station wasn't clear; there was static. Either the positioning of the car to the radio waves wasn't connected or close enough or you had to adjust the dial. You and I are a lot like that radio in the car to the transmitting radio tower. We find ourselves in life moving and there comes static in our communication with God. We have a difficult time hearing what He is saying. Most of us get pretty irritated when the radio station is unclear. If we can't get the dial to pick up the station we either switch stations or we turn it off. How quick are you to turn off God? How quickly are you to find another voice to listen too? Do you realize it isn't God who is speaking unclearly? It is that you and I are not positioned in His presence.

We cannot keep our mind on the Lord nor can we put our trust in Him when we are not hearing clearly, because we are not fully in His presence. We all want perfect peace. We would like the chaos around us to stop. We want the stress in our lives to be eliminated. To do this, we are going to have to position ourselves in the presence of God.

When you find yourself being irritated check to see if you are in the presence of God. Check to see if you are clearly hearing what He is saying. If you have been asking God for an answer or even just to hear His voice, check to make sure you are in His presence. God is listening all the time. He can hear you. Just like the radio station. The radio station is always transmitting. If there is a problem with the receiver it is, because it is to far away or not tuned correctly. Are you too far from God? No matter how diligently you are listening, you can't understand what He is saying. Are you feeling like you are hearing every other word or phrase God is speaking? Being out-of-tune with God means you are within range, you just aren't fully listening. You may have other things floating around in your thoughts or be distracted by what is going on in your life, so that you can't recognize God's voice. You can be in His presence and not be receiving from God. I have been that person. People around me are hearing from God, experiencing a touch from Him and embracing what He has to offer but I didn't hear anything, I didn't receive a touch; therefore, I didn't know what to embrace. Once I learned God is around me all the time. I learned I had to set my mind on Him. I had to tune in. It wasn't a matter of proximity it was a matter of focus. I had to learn to position my mind to stay on God. I couldn't allow my mind to get distracted by other things going on. My mind had to stay on God then His amazing perfect peace enveloped me.

Father, I position myself in Your presence. I want to receive all You are saying and what I need to hear; therefore, I will position myself to be in proximity of You. You are the transmitter and I am the receiver. I will also make sure my mind stays on You. I will not allow my mind to be distracted and take on the worries of the world, the chaos of circumstances I can't control, or decisions made by others. I will keep my focus on You. I will receive Your amazing perfect peace. For You are my God and I will trust You in Jesus' name amen.
