Remember...

Warriors Arise: December 10, 2020

1 Samuel 30:20 (NKJV) Then David took all the flocks and herds they had driven before those other livestock, and said, “This is David's spoil.”

Remember who David is to these men.

1 Samuel 22:2 (NKJV) And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him.

Remember what the men were going to do to David when they returned to Ziklag and found their homes burnt to the ground, their wives, children and possessions stolen?

1 Samuel 30:6 (NKJV) Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters.

Remember how David responded.

1 Samuel 30:6c (NKJV) But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

Remember what he did before his men.

1 Samuel 30:7-8 (NKJV) 7 Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. 8 So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?

Remember God responded.

1 Samuel 30:8c (NKJV) And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

Remember David and His men immediately follow God's plan.

1 Samuel 30:9a (NKJV) So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him,

Remember 200 men couldn't go any further when they arrived at Brook Besor.

1 Samuel 30:9-10 (NKJV) came to the Brook Besor, where those stayed who were left behind.

Remember David and 400 men continued. They kept going with God's plan.

1 Samuel 30:10 (NKJV) But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so weary that they could not cross the Brook Besor.

Remember they found a man, they gave him water and food, and he led them to the Amalekites.

1 Samuel 30:11-16 (NKJV) Then they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David; and they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water. 12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. So when he had eaten, his strength came back to him; for he had eaten no bread nor drunk water for three days and three nights. 13 Then David said to him, “To whom do you belong, and where are you from?”

And he said, “I am a young man from Egypt, servant of an Amalekite; and my master left me behind, because three days ago I fell sick. 14 We made an invasion of the southern area of the Cherethites, in the territory which belongs to Judah, and of the southern area of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.” 15 And David said to him, “Can you take me down to this troop?” So he said, “Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will take you down to this troop.” 16 And when he had brought him down, there they were, spread out over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil which they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

Remember they attacked because God told them to pursue and overtake all.

1 Samuel 30:17 (NKJV) Then David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day.

Remember they fought until what God said became reality.

1 Samuel 30:18-19 (NKJV) So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. 19 And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all.

Remember David and his men did what God said to do and what God said became a reality. This is so important. As Christians, God wants to lead us to victory. When things looked their worst for David, he strengthened himself in the Lord and then before his men he asked God what to do. Then David did exactly what God said to do. They didn't stop when others couldn't go any further. They offered kindness and generosity to someone who was in company with those who destroyed their city. They did what God told them to do and they received what God said they would get.

Father, it is so important for me to remember what you have said. I ask for You to speak to me again. I ask for You to remind me of what You have said to me. Remind me of the times that even though I didn't respond immediately, if there is still time for me to act, I ask for You to tell me again. I pray for you to open my ears to hear You clearly. I pray I would have a willing heart to follow You. You are always for me and want to heal my broken heart. You are with me and guide me to retrieve what the enemy has stolen. You are for me and lead me in triumph. You are with me always. Your love overflows my heart. Your Words are for my good. You minister to my broken heart. You abound in wisdom and pour into me. You desire for me to live the life You dreamed. You are for me to overcome the enemy who has stolen from me. You pass judgement and the enemy has to pay restitution. You send me into battle and make me the victor because You are my God and I am loved by You. I ask for ears to hear You and my mind to follow what You say in Jesus' name, amen.

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus, riots, and lies. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
