Warriors Arise: July 26, 2023
Matthew 4:2 (NKJV) And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.
I am not sure why Matthew had to say, "afterward He was hungry." That seems like a given. But it definitely should be noted. Maybe the forty days and forty nights were easy for Jesus. Maybe, He didn't have any hunger pains or a hangry attitude because He was completely enveloped in being reunited with the Holy Sprit. Maybe they were catching up on what had been going on in heaven since Jesus came to earth. Maybe the Holy Spirit was filling Jesus in on the battles in the heavenly realm since He was sent to earth. Maybe they were celebrating over the event of Jesus publicly being ushered into ministry, demonstrating the love of God. There was definitely a wow factor with that! Talk about, "Surprise!" Maybe the Holy Spirit was getting used to Jesus as a man. Maybe they were going over the plan. He might have been reminding Jesus exactly how things were going to go down, the deception, beating, and crucifixion. He couldn't allow anything to deter Him from what He needed to do for our salvation.
Jesus was human. I bet He couldn't wait for this day to come. He was reunited with His Father and then given the Holy Spirit. Jesus would never be alone again. All His life, He had been in direct unity with the Holy Spirit and God until He came to earth. After thirty years, He is reunited and God gave Him the best gift. He gave Him the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the gift that keeps on giving; person after person, generation after generation.
Father, You give the best gifts. I can't imagine the reunion between Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I do not fully comprehend such a gift. Teach me to commune with the Holy Spirit. I desire to know the Holy Spirit and operate as one like He and Jesus did when He walked the earth. I want to be united with the Holy Spirit like Jesus. I know I do not have a history with the Holy Spirit prior to being born here on earth but I still want to be in unison with Him in Jesus name amen.
