Warriors Arise: May 1, 2023
Genesis 1:1-4 (NKJV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
I like the first day of the month. It is like a new beginning. There are times I need a cleansing to wash off the yuck of yesterday. I need to know God is separating last month from this month. Last month is over and this month hasn't been written.
The first day of the month can seem like a restart, a new beginning. I know it is just a minute from that last month and the days align together, but in my mind, the last day of the month is like finishing a chapter which gives the first day of the month the adventure of something new, a possibility, a hope. Sometimes we need to close the chapter on the last part of life and move on. We need to let go of what is holding us back. We need to take a deep breath and let it all out. We may even need to cry or get angry to release the hurt or frustrations of what life has drug us through.
Today, May 1st, is a new day, a new beginning, a new month, a new chapter. It is time to stop existing in life and be actively writing into our life the things God has for us. We can let yesterday stay right where it is; in the past. We can learn from it so we don't carry the same mistakes into our today, but we can start again. We can start fresh. God says His mercies are new every morning. We can receive His mercy and be cleansed as we wake up to a new day.
The Lord God, He is good. He cleanses us from all unrighteousness when we come to Him, seek forgiveness and receive His grace.
The Lord God, He is faithful. He does not leave us in the mess or in the battle. When we call upon Him, He coms to fight our battle, He leads us into victory. He causes us to triumph.
The Lord God, He is love. He never fails us. He is hers our cry and sees our despair and comes to our rescue.
The Lord God, He is compassionate. He heals, delivers, redeems and restores us.
Today, on this first day of May, I encourage you to to declare who God is. I encourage You to leave yesterday in the past. I encourage you to step into this new day. Today, make decisions from a point of being cleanse by His love and bathed in His compassion. Today, purpose in your heart to follow the Lord and stay by His side. Today, reach out and take His hand. You and I cannot accomplish what the Lord God has for us if we remain in yesterday. It is time to move out, move on, and move with God into our today. God makes today a new day and we need to step into today. Just like He separated day from night, He has separated yesterday from today. Step into this new day. then walk hand in hand with the Father. He is offering you this new day as He offers His hand to you.
Father, today I choose to step into a new day, this new day which You have created. I will let yesterday remain in the past and I will move forward with You. I will not allow yesterday to hold me captive in my body, or my soul. I will not allow the things of yesterday, last week, last month, last year or any time in my past hold me prisoner. You have freed me. I will walk out of the prison and into the new day You have for me. You are my light and will guide me out of this darkness. You are lifting me up out of the muck and the mire. You are setting my feet upon solid ground. There is no shifting ground because You are my Rock, the Rock upon which I stand. I will take refuge in You, receive healing and be made whole. I will walk away from the enemy and leave him behind. I will set my focus on You and the direction You have for me. I will rise up and walk. I will not be paralyzed any longer. The time for weeping is over and a new dawn arrises. I will allow hope to fan the flame, put my feet to the ground and hands to the work You have given me. I will follow the Son and walk in His light in Jesus' name amen.
