Warriors Arise: November 4, 2021
Exodus 14:26-31 (NKJV)Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” 27 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 28 Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained. 29 But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. 30 So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. 31 Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord and His servant
What if Moses had not done what God told him to do in verse 26? Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” My first thought: "Would there still be a dry path through the sea and walls of water on each side? That would be pretty awesome! However, my second thought,"If Moses hadn't obeyed God, he would have allowed the enemy to capture them, he probably would have been killed and Pharaoh would have made them slaves again."
I wonder if there are breakthroughs God has provided for you, but after you got through the door you didn't close the door; therefore, the enemy continues to pursue you. If you are still harassed by the same enemy then did you close the door when you got out?
Why are we so nice to the enemy and so rude to God? God provides a way out of a terrible traumatic situation, we walk through the door, but something reaches through that opening and causes us to leave the door open. We allow the enemy to speak to us:
"You know you can't live without me."
"What will you do, this is the only thing you know how to do."
"You think you are going to try something new? HA! That is a joke."
"You think you can get rid of me that easy."
"I will be back."
If you don't shut the door the enemy still has access to you. He still speaks the same old lies and they tear at your dreams and destroy your purpose. You must have the courage to walk through the opening and then SHUT THE DOOR!
Father, I ask for You to give me courage to leave the enemy behind. I pray I will have the strength to get up and walk through the door. I do not want the same enemy to harass me for the rest of my life. I want to be free and You have given me a way out. I will walk through. Now, I know that I need to shut the door. In faith, I reach out and push the door shut. I will not allow the door of my captivity to be open any longer. I will not entertain the lies of the enemy.I will embrace the freedom You have given me. I will shut the door and walk away in Jesus' name amen.
