Warriors Arise: March 23, 2022
Luke 9:51 (NKJV) Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem
Jesus went about the country demonstrating the love of God to all people. Scripture records that everyone who came to Him received healing. The lame walked, the blind see and the dead were raised. He taught His disciples to do the same. They were to give was had freely been given to them.
Matthew 10:7-8 (NKJV) And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Jesus was doing so many good things, the miraculous. He did everything He saw the Father doing. He was displaying the wonderful love of God as He taught and healed. Do you think everyone was healed, delivered, and cleansed when it was time to fulfill His calling? I don't think so. I can't find anything in Scripture to support either way. However, when it was time I can't find where Jesus told God, "One more. Can I go to one more city? Can I have one more teaching on the hill?" Jesus knew why He was here on earth. He was here to be lifted up as our Savior. In all the wonderful, miraculous, supernatural things He did, He never lost sight of the cross and all that lay on the other side of it.
Patrick studied for 15 years. From what I could find, it would seem he never lost sight of why he was studying the Word of God. He went to be trained with the intent of being sent out. Sometimes we can get caught up in all we are doing that was only supposed to be fora period of time, a period of preparation that we forgot the preparation was for a purpose. There is a return to finishing what God called us to do. Are you fulfilling what God put inside your heart to do? If you don't know, take some time to ask God to remind you of your calling. Sometimes we can get tied up in the training, in waiting for the time to go that we doin't here God tell us it is time to go.
Although many formerly enslaved people would have dreaded a return to their place of captivity, Patrick asked for an assignment as a missionary to Ireland. (HISTORY)
Patrick asked for the assignment to be a missionary to Ireland. He actually asks! Many of us, if we were honest, would wait until our superiors asked us to return. We would take that as confirmation. Most of us like our comfort, we like where we are at. We want the easy road. We want what others have. Nobody wanted to go to Ireland, especially if they heard Patrick's experience. But Patrick knew he was being trained to be sent out. He knew going in where he was to go when he go out. He was to return to the people who stole him from his parents, homeland and way of life. He was to return to the people who knew how to put fear in anyone. He was to return to the people who made him a slave. He was to return to the people who left him to starve to death. He was to return to the people who left him to freeze to death. He was to return to a place in time that had stolen his life but no more. He would be the conqueror. He had overcome his fears. He would be the victor because Christ leads us into triumph. He would not forget that God would go before him. He would released the kingdom of God all over Ireland.
Father, I am amazed by Your love. You bring security to my life. I know You will not pas me by. I know You will make a way for me to fulfill the call You have placed upon my life. I am Your's. I surrender to Your call. I train myself on Your Word and listen to Your voice. I know You voice. I will seek You, follow You, and walk in Your ways. I will not forget what You have put into my heart to do. You have a plan and desire for me to full it. I ask for what You have called me to do to come right now. I pray for open doors, opportunities and resources to come my way. You are my God and I will follow You in Jesus' name amen.
