Warriors Arise: May 6th, 2020
John 20:11-13, "But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?"
Honestly, I can't figure out why she wasn't screaming! Peter and John were just in the tomb and she didn't hear them talking to anyone. They left without saying a word to her. They didn't say there were angels in the tomb. While she is weeping outside the tomb; she "stooped down and looked into the tomb". Have you ever been so overwhelmed with grief or in the whirlwind of a terrible situation, your mind isn't where you are; it is in your thoughts? You could walk by people and not even see who they were, even though you know them. Mary is grieving. She is uncertain. Why was the angel there earlier, spoke to her, Mary and Salome, yet when Peter and John came there was not angel?
Mary is grieving. When your world has been devastated all kinds of things go through your mind. Your thoughts consume you. You think about what happened, how it happened, how could it have happened to you, in your world. You think about what is going to happen now, how will you go on, what you thought would be can never be. Your thoughts consume you and take over. What was the center of your world is now gone.
Warriors, people are going to be grieving. Things didn't turn out like they had planned for this year, for their lives. Things they had dreamed about are gone. Things they had hoped for, expected, and knew it would be their turn this year, but the enemy came in and stole it from them. We want to pray God will meet them, what the enemy meant for evil God will turn around for their good.
Father, so many high school seniors, college graduates who were looking forward to their moment to celebrate all they have accomplished in school. The enemy has stolen their moment to shine, time when family and friends honor what they have accomplished. I ask for You to come and minister to their hearts and minds. I ask for each one to know Your presence, to see how You are going to turn this evil into something beautiful in their lives. I ask for Your to meet with each one and speak life to them, focus them on the plans You have for their lives. I pray they would seek You; that they would turn their faces to You and ask You for the plans You have for their lives. So, many times in the celebration there are people, who are well intended but press their thoughts on others, guiding them away from what You want for them. I ask for each Senior graduate to receive a visitation from You, to be guided by the Holy Spirit for their next step in life. I ask for You to speak to them clearly and that without a doubt they will know You are guiding their steps. You are leading them on the path You have planned for them. No longer will they be what someone else wants them to be but they will embrace who You created them to be in Jesus' name amen. In the weeping, meet with each senior graduate and guide their steps to the plans You have for them in Jesus' name amen.
