Warriors Arise: August 28, 2022
1 Samuel 18:5 (NKJV) So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul's servants.
Did you see what he did? He ran to the giant. What was he thinking? How many of Saul's men saw what David did. You can't teach crazy and now Saul has put that crazy kid over the men of war. There are some things you can't teach; you either are or you aren't. David wasn't crazy, but he was totally sold out to God. Being totally sold out to God can definitely make people think you are a little on the crazy side. You do things no one else would think of doing and if they were asked to do it they would flat out say it was impossible and walk away.
No one else in Saul's army would face the giant. Saul wouldn't do it and he probably forbid his son from volunteering. Even though his son had defeated a garrison of Philistines. His son, Jonathan definitely had a little crazy in him. He was crazy enough to believe God would answer one way or another, giving him a sign as to God's plan of action. I can see Saul look directly this son and saying, "I better not see you even close to that Philistine or the enemy's camp!"
David had what seemed to be "crazy" in him and needed to be taught how to be a man of war. While the men of war were trained and skilled in battle needed to be around someone with a little crazy. They needed to know how to engage their war mode. Someone who operates in faith, especially the gift of faith, can often be thought of as crazy. No one believes like they do. They can often be known as too intense or when they talk of the possibilities of God others want then to be quiet. Their craziness to believe the Word of God and His desire to be active in a situation can cause others to be uncomfortable. Others do not know what to do with them. When the very thing they need is to believe God wants to do the miraculous in the life is to be around someone whose faith is overflowing and looks to be a little crazy.
Sometimes is order for the impossible to happen we have to have a little crazy. We have to believe God can do what our mind cannot comprehend.
Father, my faith is not crazy. My faith is secure. It is sound and solid, but I would not say it is overflowing with belief for the impossible. There is so much in this world that is going terrible. I find myself being swallowed up with the negative. I cannot comprehend how things will ever turn around. But I think of You and know You can do anything. So I can pray in faith, believing for the turnaround of our nation, the turnaround of moral behavior, the turnaround of deception, the turnaround of our economy. I need my faith to be full of crazy. My mind cannot grasp how things will get better. But they don't just need to get better they need to be aligned with You. We need a purification in our mind from all the deception and lies, the deceit and selfish thinking. This can only come through a revival, people awaken to Your wisdom and love. I ask for You to teach us crazy, ignite our faith that we may believe and activate Your will here on earth in Jesus' name amen.
