The Comparison

Warriors Arise: April 8, 2021

Daniel 6:18-20 (NKJV) Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him. 19 Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. 20 And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”

Let's compare what the king said before Daniel was cast into the lions' den and what he has said the next morning.

Daniel 6:16 (NKJV) So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.

Have you ever had a friend or family member be cast into a desperate situation? They didn't ask for it; they didn't do anything wrong; and yet, here they are, right in the midst of the den of lions. You wish you could say one prayer and it all go away. You wish they didn't have to be in the lions' den, but they are. There isn't anything you can do, but be the Darius they need. You can pray, declare the things you know God can do even if you are unsure. Speak in faith. Speak to compel God to step in and show Himself able. Not in a challenging way, but to stir up their faith to believe that God will act on their behalf.

Romans 4:17-18 (NKJV) ...in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed,...

Hebrews 10:23-24 (NKJV) Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) Fear not, for I am with you;

Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you,Yes, I will help you,

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

We all find ourselves in a time when we need others who will declare what the Lord will do for us. Darius must give the order for Daniel to be thrown into the lions' den, but not before he declares who Daniel has been to his God and what God will do for him! Everyone of us could use a friend like that!

The problem is, we have friends who say:

"No one said life would be fair."

"When it rains it pours!"

"Why do you think you're special?"

"Why should you be any different than the rest of us?"

"God wouldn't do the miraculous for them, so why would He do it for you?"

"Just because God did it for them, doesn't mean He will do it for you."

See how the coin flips! People have no faith God will intervene. Why is that? Statements like those above reveal the heart of the speaker. They don't believe God will do the miraculous. They don't believe God will answer. Maybe God didn't answer a particular request for them. Maybe they gave up ask and are just dealing with their lions' den or living in their hopelessness. I am sure you can think of a few people have spoken hopelessness or the "just-deal-with-it" attitude over you. But what if you had someone like Darius? Someone who said, "Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you!"

Father, I forgive everyone who has spoken hopelessness over me when I was on my way into the lions' den. I forgive those who did not pray or hold a vigil while I was in the lions' den. I release them. I bless them to see You actively involved in their lives. I bless them to have eyes to see how You have protected them and provided for them. I bless them to see Your amazing love that has never failed them. I ask for You to give them ears to hear Your words of encouragement and affirmation. I bless each one to know Your desire to set them free from discouragement and depression. I bless each one to receive the fullness of Your love and to embrace it. Forgive me for speaking words of hopelessness over others who shared their dreams with me. Help me to speak words of hope and to bless them to walk with You as the dreams You put in them become a reality. Forgive me for speaking words of doubt and trying to speak reason into them. I ask for You remove my words of death and give me words of life to speak over each one. I ask for You to move in a mighty way in my life. Open my eyes to see You in action. Open my ears to hear You speak words of encouragement. I will be a life giver, speaking words of hope over the dreams You have placed in others. I will declare the goodness and greatness of God, when others are headed into the lions' den. You will not fail because You are always with us. I will praise You all my days in Jesus' name amen!
