Warriors Arise: May 2, 2021
Daniel 6:25-26 (NKJV) 25 Then King Darius wrote: To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you. 26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end.
Look at how Darius begins verse 26, "I make a decreee that in every dominion of my kingdom...". Now look at how he ends that verse, "and His dominion shall endure to the end." He clarifies his humanness, the expansion and reign of his kingdom differing from Daniel's God, the living God "and His dominion shall endure to the end." Darius speaks of his dominion in the current, everyone under his protection and rule are to listen to his decree. When he is telling about the living God, he declares that His dominion will endure to the end.
Darius understands he will not live forever; he will not rule forever. But he knows whose dominion will endure through generations and generations of rulers. He understands God has always been. He brought Nebuchadnezzar into power and cast him into the wild when he thought of himself as accomplishing all he did on his own. He brought Belshazzar's reign to an end when the written word of judgement did not bring him to his knees. Darius recognizes that currently, he is the ruler and will share of the living God to all who are under his dominion. However, he also understands that God's dominion has always been and will forever be. The living God's dominion, what He says will come to pass from the beginning of man to the end of earth.
There is a difference between what is God's and what is mine. God's wisdom is beyond mine. God's love reaches depths I can't even fathom. God's power is limitless and mine has all kinds of limits. Where I don't have enough, God has everything I need. Where I can't see a way, God says to follow because He has made a way. Where I hit the bottom and my love has been tapped, God fills me to overflowing. There is a difference between God and myself.
Not only is there a difference between what is God's and what is mine but what is mine is His. Darius understood his dominion was established because of God. Nebuchadnezzar had thought and declared that he had made the nation he ruled great and vast. When it was God who put him into power and given him success. Darius understood, many have ruled before him and one day his reign will end and another will follow him; however, the living God will always have dominion over whomever is in authority.
The area in which you and I have dominion has been given to us by God. How we choose to use that authority is up to us. Whether we activate the authority God has given us is on us, our decision. But that doesn't mean God didn't give it to us. If I give someone a gift and they never open it, that doesn't negate the fact that I gave them the gift.
Genesis 1:26-28 (NKJV) 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
God's plan has always been for us to have dominion before hunan beings were created. Then Jesus demonstrated dominion over the enemy, wind, water and the produce of the land. He had dominion over blind eyes, the lame, and death. He exercised authority over demons and the possessed. Then He tells us, the authority God has given Him, He has given to us.
Matthew 10:5-8 (NKJV) These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying... 7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Just as Darius had decreed, the living God is with us to the end of the age because His dominion will never end.
Father, You created all things. You desire for each one of us to live with the authority You have given us. We are to walk in the fullness of all you have given us. I ask for You to come and give me understanding of what I am to do with the authority You hav given into my hands. I am thankful You are will me. I am thankful Your was are true. To operate in the authority you have given me seems overwhelming when it should be a delight, a freedom. I should delight in the fact that when the enemy rises his ugly head and spews forth his divisive ways the power You have placed in me is enough to take a stand against the enemy. I pray for boldness to stand up and release Your power. Freely You have given to me so how can I withhold freedom to others. I pray for courage to release Your will here on earth as it is in heaven in Jesus' name amen.
