Warriors Arise: March 12, 2023
1 Chronicles 16:1-6 (NKJV) So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. 2 And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord. 3 Then he distributed to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. 4 And he appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, to commemorate, to thank, and to praise the Lord God of Israel: 5 Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, and Obed-Edom: Jeiel with stringed instruments and harps, but Asaph made music with cymbals; 6 Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests regularly blew the trumpets before the ark of the covenant of God.
As if they didn't have enough singing, dancing, and playing of the instruments, David appointed some of the Levites to minster before the ark of the Lord. He gave them specific instructions to commemorate, to thank and to praise the Lord God of Israel. They had celebrated all the way from Obed Edom's house to the city of David. They placed the ark of God in the tent. David blessed the people in the name of the Lord and he gave out food. Instead of sending the people home, he instructed the worship to continue. From that day forward, David had instructed the celebration never stop. The party was to continue. God is to be worshipped every day, all day, 24 hours a day.
That is very unique. David had instituted worship to God here on earth without knowing this is exactly what was going on in heaven. We don't have a record of worship in heaven until it is recorded in Isaiah chapter 6.
Isaiah 6:1-3 (NKJV) In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”
David had tapped into something that was being done in heaven. How would he know there was 24 hour worship going on in heaven surrounding God? It reminds me of what Jesus taught His disciples to pray in Matthew.
Matthew 6:9-10 (NKJV) In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
The kingdom of God in heaven was and is worshipping Him 24 hours a day. David began 24 hour a day worship before the ark of God that very day. Do you think we could tap into things going on in heaven this very day and institute them here on earth? I think so, or Jesus would not have instructed us to pray is such a manner, "As it is in heaven, let it be on earth."
Daddy God, I want my eyes to be opened. I want to see what is going on in heaven. I want to be filled with courage and boldness to release Your kingdom here. Scripture tells us to pray without ceasing. I believe we can also apply that to worship. We adore You and lift Your name on high. I give honor and glory and praise to You, my King, my Lord, and my Savior. I will continue to worship You throughout my day. I will see You open doors that no man can close. I will see Salvation come and deliverance free Your people. I will pray bold prayers. I will believe for the impossible and see You do the miraculous to bring Salvation, restoration, and redemption to Your people. I will praise You in Jesus' name amen.
