The Timing of One Person

Warriors Arise: March 31, 2021

Daniel 6:16-18 (NKJV) So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.” 17 Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not be changed. 18 Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him.

The way Darius responds is exactly what Jesus tells His disciples to do in Matthew 6:5-15. Darius could have had his heart soothed by having musicians brought into his banqueting hall. But he didn't. He could have spent the night trying to have his mind occupied by hosting a feast to distract his mind. He could have tried anything to keep from having to be swallowed up by the darkness of the night and the eminent danger he had thrown Daniel into. He didn't want to escape the pain and despair he was feeling; therefore, he didn't take some potion to go to sleep. Darius was on a mission.

If there was anyway for Daniel to be saved, he knew it would be through Daniel's God. We don't know if he knows Daniel's God. This could be a situation like Ruth or Rahab. They knew of God and joined God's people; therefore, God brought them into His family even though they were not Hebrew. Darius knew he needed a power greater than himself. He needed Daniel's God to do what Daniel's God does. He needed Him to intervene on Daniel's behalf.

Darius humbled himself to seek God. He had made a mistake and it was costing Daniel. The least he could do is petition Daniel's God. He didn't know if God would hear him but that did not deter him. Look at what Jesus tells His disciples to do to position themselves to be heard by God and to hear God.

Matthew 6:5-6 (NKJV) 5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

See how verse 6 parallels with what Darius did in Daniel 6:18.

18 Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him.

Pretty cool! Darius didn't even have the Bible as his guide or Jesus teaching him. He knew that this was no time to call a church service for the Hebrew captives in his kingdom (Matthew 6:5). This was a "now" thing. This was the time for him to position himself to pray.

Many times we reject the power of one person's prayer. The timing of one person's prayer matter. Sometimes, all you can do is respond in prayer right now! There is not time to rally the intercessors. There is only time to get before God and pray. You don't need to tell the situation over and over and over to the next person and the next person and the next person. YOU NEED TO START PRAYING!

Father, I position myself before You now to know. I want to be moved to pray for a person or a situation even when the odds are against them. Even it I do not see a way for them to get out, I want to see with Your eyes. I want to believe my God can intervene. I want to release Your kingdom power into their life and for change to come. I praise You because nothing is to great for You. Your love is powerful and can shut the mouths of lions! You are calling Your people to know You, to trust You, to respond when you say, "Pray now". We are not to wallow in disbelief or wish ourselves to sleep. We are to engage in prayer to release the possible in the impossible situation. I trust You to move in Jesus' name. I celebrate Your power over the enemy's plans. I position myself before You to intercede on behalf of those who love You and will not waver. I ask for Your power to be released in their life to bring protection, provision, and promotion as Daniel. I ask for be notified when I am to position myself before You and release Your kingdom here on earth as it is in heave in Jesus' name amen.

My hope is for Believers in Jesus Christ to join together each day to pray, to push back the enemy as we release God’s power here on earth against the coronavirus, riots, and lies. The prayers will be listed each day as Warriors Arise. I will put a date with it so we can keep them straight. If you have any questions please feel free to make a comment or private message me.
