The Touch of God, part 1

Warriors Arise: July 14, 2021

Genesis 2:7 (NKJV) And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Have you heard the saying, "You can't make something out of nothing." Well, God can.

Genesis 1:1-3 (NKJV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

Genesis 1:6-7 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament,

Genesis 1:9 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:11 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:14-15 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:20-21 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:24 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.

Out of nothing, God created. It was by His word and things formed! But when it came to man, God wanted to get His hands dirty and make something. He could have spoke and man would have been created in His image. Why didn't He? Why did He take the time to form man? Why did God use dirt? Why did God want man to be in His image?

Everything in our world was created by the spoke Word of God. But when it came to man, being made in the image of God, He took special interest. This was a hands on masterpiece. It was God's hands on dirt forming man in His own image. The value God placed on us is amazing. I am not sure if very many of us really recognize the honor of God wanting us to be made in His image and to have crafted us with His hands.

Genesis 1:26-27 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

God spoke our world into existence. But when it came to man, the human race, it was a hands-on job. In Gen. 2:7 we read, And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground. God took the dust of the ground and formed man. I try to imagine God playing, crafting in the dirt. I wasn't good at making much more than a mud pie out of dirt but God, He formed man.

God touched man before there was life in him. I have pictured in my mind God designing the heart and lungs, the brain and bones, the skin, eyes, nose, and lips. Did He look up at Jesus and the back down at the dirt to form the legs, arms, neck and head? Did he look to see if the head was too big or the arms too long? Everything else created in our world came to be because God spoke and it happened, but He took His time and placed His hands on dirt to form man in His imagine, the image of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I wonder if David had a revelation of this when he penned Psalm 139.

Psalms 139:13-16 (NKJV)

13 For You formed my inward parts;

You covered me in my mother's womb.

14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Marvelous are Your works,

And that my soul knows very well.

15 My frame was not hidden from You,

When I was made in secret,

And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.

And in Your book they all were written,

The days fashioned for me,

When as yet there were none of them.

David recognized God had a plan for his life even before he was conceived. When he searches his soul, he knows God knitted him in his mother's womb.

Psalms 139:5 (NKJV)

You have hedged me behind and before,

And laid Your hand upon me.

David recognizes the hand of God upon him. I don't believe the only three people God touched were Adam, Eve, and David. I believe God didn't stop forming His people. I believe God had His hand upon each one. He deposits His love into each life. But He created us with free choice. We choose whether we will receive the love from His touch or discard it. Love is a choice. If God created robots there would be no love and no need for a brain. But God gave us a brain to think, reason and make a choice. He hopes each one of us will recognize the touch of His love so we will achieve all He has place inside of us.

One touch from the Master creator is enough to keep our feet on solid ground and receive the fullness of His love that lights a fire to shine throughout our destiny. When we recognize we have been touched by the Father, we desire to fulfill the dreams He dreamed for us and allow His love to be an overflow to others. When we align ourselves with His love, we can't prevent the God-size opportunities to share His love.

You and I have been touch by the hand of God. He has marked us with His everlasting love. Some choose to receive His love while others reject it. Whether you choose it or reject it doesn't change that fact that He gave it to you. It is just like a gift. When I give you a gift you can choose to receive, open and enjoy the gift or you can tele to leave it on your steps and there is remains.

Father, You are amazing! Your hands upon my life deposit the one thing I need. I need Your love. You do not withhold Your love from mankind. You release it and pour over us. You want us to be drawn to You because of what You have put inside of us. You want us to seek You and walk in the destiny You have for us because then we are truly satisfied, abounding in joy, overflowing with love, and determined to accomplish what You have put inside of us to do. You truly are amazing. You placed such high value on me that You formed me with Your hands. You didn't just speak and I became, You touched my life and transformed me. I receive Your touch of love that casts out all fear, redeems my soul and restores the plans You have for me. You are my God and there is no other in Jesus' name amen.
