Daniel 10:10-12 (NKJV) Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. 11 And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling.12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.
One of the reasons "a hand touched me" caused Daniel to tremble on his knees was because he had been praying for 21 days. There was no answer. Absolutely nothing from God. He knew God heard his prayers and had demonstrated on a number of occasions He answered and intervened faster than that.
Daniel 1:8-15, Daniel asks that he and 3 others not have to eat the food from the king's table. They were given 10 days to prove their request.
Daniel 2, Nebuchadnezzar had a terrible dream he doesn't understand. He called the Chaldeans to answer him; but he refused to share the dream. He wanted them to have an interpretation without knowing the dream or they will all be killed. As the guards are rounding up the Chaldeans and all the wisemen, Daniel prayed and God gave him the dream and the interpretation.
Daniel 5, Belshazzar had a feast and saw the finger of God write on the wall but he didn't know what it said. They sent for Daniel. He hasn't seen he writing but got the interpretation when presented to the king.
Daniel 6, There was a plot against Daniel to have him thrown into the lions' den. He was thrown in and when King Darius has the stone rolled away the next morning Daniel was still alive.
This time, in Daniel 10, something was definitely. God had not responded quickly. Or had He?
12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.
I don't want you to miss this. We can begin praying for something and feel like God hasn't done a thing.
We contemplate whether we our prayer was heard. We can think God is too busy helping someone else. Therefore, we lack the understanding on how valuable we are to Him.1 John 4:9-10 (NKJV) In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
We can think God is unable to intervene. Therefore, we lack the understanding that there is nothing too hard for our God. Jeremiah 32:26-27 (NKJV) Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, 27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?
We can tell ourselves over and over that we are going through this and God has allowed it, because we have done some great sin. Therefore, we lack the understand of the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. There is no sin too great that the blood of Jesus can't take care of. Jesus died for each and every sin. If you have sinned then repent and receive the forgiveness of God, but don't allow it to be your excuse for not having your prayers answered. If you won't admit your sin then the enemy has consumed your mind with pride. Romans 3:23 (NKJV) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
From the first day Daniel began to pray, God sent this angel with a message to deliver. The angel says, "I have come because of your words." That is pretty amazing! God heard Daniel the first day he prayed. God called forth one of His messenger angels and sent him to Daniel that very day.
We are all precious in God's sight. His heart is toward each one of us. He fearfully and wonderfully made each one of us with purpose and a destiny to fulfill. God is cheering us on. His desire is for each one of us to achieve the dreams He placed inside of us. You have a purpose. You have been given a calling with talents that will enhance your ability to accomplish what God has put into your hands to do. Be bold, receive the plans and walk in the power of Christ to accomplish the dreams God has put inside of you. Stop allowing your life to be so busy you miss the real thing that will give you fulfillment, a sense of accomplishment, empowerment to overcome the enemy, and the Father's, "Well done," when you get to heaven.
Daniel knew something was holding up God's answer, God's action on his prayers. God would not go back on His word. There was no reason; therefore, something must be going on. Daniel's prayers may have turned to a warfare prayer rather than a prayer of request or petition. Daniel had lived through wartime. He had been taken captive because of war. He had served under three different nations because of war. He knew what war was like. He went to be as a servant under Babylonian reign and one day woke up one morning with the former king killed in his sleep and a new king of the Medes on the throne. Not knowing if he, as 3rd in command the night before, would find the same fate as the murdered Babylonian king.
From the first day Daniel began pray God heard him and responded. Do you believe that?Do you believe God responds to you in the same way? From the first day you begin to pray, God starts working things together for your good?
Romans 8:27-28 (NKJV) Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Daniel prays the will of God. It was the promise of God, 70 years of captivity and then they would be able to return to Jerusalem. This was the word from the prophet Jeremiah. Daniel was only praying for the promise to manifest into reality. God heard his prayer the first day, summoned and sent an angel to deliver His message to Daniel.
Father, I thank You. You are amazing! You her my prayers and begin working things out for my good when I pray. Sometimes You work things out even before I pray. You are wonderful. Your love for me is too much for my mind to comprehend. You cheer me on. You wait for me to position myself before You. You listen and lead me. You touch my life with assurance that all is well and You are working things out for my good. Your love for me overflows beyond measure. It overwhelms me. I trust You. I know You hear my prayers. I know You begin acting on my behalf because Your love for me is greater, stronger and more powerful than any foe who rises against me. I will pray and know that when I pray, You are setting things in motion to make a way whether seems to be no way. You are my God and I will trust You in Jesus' name amen.
