Warriors Arise: August 18, 2021
John 9:6-12 (NKJV) When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. 8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?” 9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” He said, “I am he.” 10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?” 11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.” 12 Then they said to him, “Where is He?” He said, “I do not know.”
After the discussion, they decide to ask the man,“How were your eyes opened?” I'm impressed. They, the neighbors and those who previously had seen the blind man, finally stopped discussing amongst themselves and asked him. How many times do we go round and round discussing someone, their situation or their change and we do not ask them. We do not ask how they were changed? What happened? They were blind and did not they see. They were financially pinching pennies and now they are spending dollars. There were in pain and now they are dancing down the street. They were couch potatoes and now they are out doing things they hadn't done in years. Their mind was confused and did not have clarity of thought. They were perpetually sick and now they are healthy and strong, sidestepping every sickness that comes along. They couldn't find a job that paid well enough to make ends meet and now they have a job with excellent benefits and pay. They had so many breeches in relationships and now they are reconciled to family and friends. What happened? What changed?
They came into contact with the healing, restoring, re-establishing, redeeming love of Jesus.
Why don't people ask? Becuase they don't really want to know the answer. Somehow, they already believe that whatever the other person came in contact with isn't for them, will cost them, or bought into lies. How many of you have had someone tell you, "Just because it worked for them doesn't mean it will work for you." That is so discouraging; therefore, I know that is not God.
God is the ultimate game changer.
Luke 18:27 (NKJV) But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
To see what God can do we can't see God as humans do. Humans are limited; but God is beyond limitations. What we can't do; He can. When you think you can't, lift your voice to heaven and petition God for what you need. I am impressed with the neighbors and the people who saw the man who was once blind. Why? Because they asked. Believing, generally, begins with asking. People see a change in others and they ask, "What has changed about you?" Those who are curious enough, bold enough to ask will have the opportunity to receive the answer which will position them for their own miracle. There is power in someone's testimony who truly receives the fullness of the touch of God. God's touch upon their life compels them to share what He did to bring about the transformation. When we share the hearers are positioned for their miracle, if they will believe the testimony of the one touched by God.
Father, I pray people will see a change in me, from what I used to be, the way I used to act, the struggles I used to have and ask, "What has caused this change"? I want to be able to share how You healed my deepest hurts, redeemed my life, restored my dreams, and brought resources into my life. I want to testify of Your touch upon my life. I want others to experience the fullness of joy and the realignment of their life because they believe and pursue after You. Come and touch my life in Jesus' name amen.
