The Touch of God, part 47

Warriors Arise: August 30, 2021

John 9:13-16 (NKJV) They brought him who formerly was blind to the Pharisees. 14 Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. 15 Then the Pharisees also asked him again how he had received his sight. He said to them, “He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.” 16 Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them.

Do you find it odd the Pharisees are arguing over the whether the Man who healed the man before them is from God? A miracle has happened. This man before them was ushered in my his neighbors, who had known him to be blind. They confirmed this man was blind. This man is not young. Surely, one of the Pharisees can identify him. For years, this man would have called out, asking for money, food, or help to get somewhere.

The devil does not heal. The devil does not bring abundant life. The devil does not bring freedom but bondage. The devil steals from you anyway he can get access into your life.

John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

They Pharisees want to argue if this Man was from God. I am totally baffled. The man before them was healed. He was blind and now he can see. His neighbors testified on both accounts. Why do we insist on believing that the good in our lives comes from the devil, the father of lies, the one who looks for every opportunity to put us down, knock us out, steal, kill and destroy our dreams? Why do we blame all the bad in the world on God, the One who gives us life and life more abundantly, the One who redeemed our lives with the life of His Son, the One who makes a way out of the snare of the devil, the One who lifts us up out of the muck and mire, the One who leads us into triumph and the One who never leaves us, the One who provides for our every need and then delights in giving us more, the abundance to share with others?

The Pharisees questioned whether a man who was doing good, healing a man from blindness is from God. All wondrous things are from God. They would know Pslam 72:18. They cannot explain why this man who once was blind, now can see. That is a wondrous thing and God only does wondrous things. So, the Man, who touched the blind man with clay and spit, is releasing the kingdom of God.

Psalms 72:18-19 (NKJV) Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel,

Who only does wondrous things! 19 And blessed be His glorious name forever!

And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen.

If we want to get technical, we are all from God. We all don't imitate God. We all don't honor God. We all don't live our lives to love God but we are all from God. No one came into this world that did not come from God.

Psalms 139:13-16 (NKJV)For You formed my inward parts;

You covered me in my mother's womb.

14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Marvelous are Your works,

And that my soul knows very well.

15 My frame was not hidden from You,

When I was made in secret,

And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.

Two things the Pharisees missed, any wondrous thing is from God and all people are from God. I wonder are we so resistant to the wondrous things of God? from God? Why does the obvious touch from God upon someone's life cause us to look for the negative rather than praising Him for the blessing, freedom, redemption, restoration, and healing?

Father, I ask for You to come and reveal my heart. I do not want to be blind to Your wondrous works that are happening around me. I want to celebrate every time You release Your healing and restore someone's body. I want to celebrate with a relationship has been mended because of Your love and giving each one the strength to forgive. I want to recognize You touching someone's life. I want to celebrate every time You do something wondrous. The news is constantly focusing on the negative and what isn't being done. I can miss what You are doing, the people who have been saved, restored, healed, and positioned in their calling. Open my eyes to see You in action in the lives of those around me. I will praise You for the wondrous things You are doing, out loud, every day in Jesus' name.
