The Touch of God, part 59

Warriors Arise: September 11, 2021

Luke 8:42-47 (NKJV) But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. 43 Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, 44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. 45 And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” 46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.

She knows she is at the mercy of Jesus. She may even be haunted by thoughts that tell her Jesus would take away her healing. Jesus does not take away our healing. The devil is the one who speaks those lies. He can't stand it when we will believe the truth about our Savior, when we call upon Him in our time of need, praise Him through the adversity and worship Him when He has made us victorious.

John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Jesus is the one who gives us life that we may have it more abundantly. Do not allow the lies of the enemy steal the victory God has given you.

This underlined phrase, falling down before Him, speaks volumes.

It is a sign of surrender. She can't deny what God has done in her.

It is a symbol of rank or status. Who was she compared to Jesus, the son of God who stood before her.

It is a demonstration of worship. No other man could heal her. Over the last 12 years, she had seen every doctor to bring her relief, to offer her hope of being healed, but none could do anything for her.

It is a position of praise.

It is a place of honor.

It is an attitude of the heart.

It is an awareness of the mind.

It is the presence of the body in the presence of God.

As I pause and think of this moment for this woman I hear the song, "We Fall Down". Maybe you will sing the song as you read the lines. Think of being in the presence of God and what He has done in your life.

We fall down, we lay our crowns,

At the feet of Jesus.

The greatness of mercy and love

At the feet of Jesus.

And we cry holy, holy, holy

And we cry holy, holy, holy

And we cry holy, holy, holy is the Lamb.

She knew she had touched God. She positioned herself in a place to give him honor and praise and testify of what He had done. Take time today to worship Jesus for all He has done in your life. Position yourself at the feet of Jesus, as this woman had, and worship Him.

Father, You are amazing in all of Your ways. I know I have things going on in my life right now, but I remember all You have done for me. I worship You today for everything You have done. I remember the acts of love and the strength You have given in my weakness. I remember how You have brought me through difficult times and gave me courage to overcome my adversary. I remember how You healed me when I was sick and restored my body. I remember how You love me despite of my flaws. I remember how You speak life into my being and renew my mind with Your Word. I remember how Your love is greater than my fears. I remember how Your peace pushes back the darkness. I remember how joy has always come when the night is over. I remember You and praise You today in Jesus' name amen.
