Warriors Arise: October 7, 2021
Matthew 9:29-30 (NKJV) Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” 30 And their eyes were opened.
Matthew 9:29-30 (MSG) He touched their eyes and said, "Become what you believe." 30 It happened. They saw.
This is exciting but also has a little bit of fear and trembling. Before I approach the Lord with my petition, with my request, I need to know what I believe. My words may say something that my heart doesn't believe. Jesus did not say, "According to what you have said let it be done to you." He touched their eyes and said, "according to your faith let it be to you."
I do believe in the spoken Word and declaring the word of God. In Psalm 107:2 the Redeemed are to say so. We are to declare what God has promised. However, I do not believe in the "name it claim it mentality." If you believe the Word and the demonstrative power of God, then it is a different aspect of the "name it claim it." I don't believe it because I said it; I believe it because God said it and I have aligned my belief with what He has said. When we believe, when everything inside of us knows God can and will move on our behalf or in a particular situation, then we are to declare it so. But if our words are just words without the power of wholehearted belief, then it is the name it claim it, hope I get it, maybe if I say it right, wishful thinking. Wishful thinking is not a belief. Wishful thinking, it a hope in something we want to have happen but we have no real evidence that it can happen.
To believe in something is to own the mountain upon which you stand. What you believe is your solid ground, your sure footing, your steady in the storm.
Jesus touched their eyes and said, "Become what you believe." Search your heart. What do you believe about what God has promised and what He has demonstrated. There are times we must get rid of the stinking thinking and climb the mountain we are to stand upon as our sure foundation of God's Word active in our lives.
Father, I ask for You to come and remove from my mind anything that does not align itself with the truth of who You are and the demonstrative power of Your love for me. I do want to come before You and make my requests known but if You were to lay Your hands upon my area of weakness and say, "Become what you believe." I don't know if my belief would line up with my request. I come before You now and ask for a cleansing of all thoughts that do not align with Your word. I ask for an establishment of Your truth my mind, my body, and strength. Today, I walk in clarity of Your Word and believe what You have said. I will embrace the fulness of Your Word and live accordingly. I will ask because I believe every Word You have spoken in Jesus' name amen.
