The Touch of God, part 88

Warriors Arise: October 10, 2021

Matthew 9:27-30 (NKJV) When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” 28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” 30 And their eyes were opened.

Let's read where Jesus was departing from. In verse 27, "When Jesus departed from there...". Where was there? Where had Jesus come from? Because it had been quite a day, before these two blind men followed Him and cried out for Jesus to have mercy upon them.

On the way to Jairus' house to heal his daughter, Jesus had been touched by the woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, without notice but in the throng of the crowd she touched the hem of Jesus' garment and was healed. Jesus spoke to her, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well" (verse 22). They reached Jarius' house and the funeral music was playing, the wailers were wailing. Jesus told them she was not dead, she was sleeping and they ridiculed Him. Could you imagine ridiculing Jesus? If we were honest, most of us have done this more than we care to remember.

Every time God speaks to us of the impossible and we don't believe it is a type of ridicule. We may only reject what God has said under our breath, but it is still a rejection. It is still unbelief. it is still not seeing from God's perspective and thinking what we know and see is truer than what God says.

Upon entering the house, Jesus told them to make room. I wonder if that is a three-fold command:

  1. Make room in the house, politely telling them to get out.

  2. Make room in their heart, see that Hand of God demonstrate the love of God.

  3. Make room in their mind, the impossible is about to be done. What they know to be true is no longer true because God has arrived. The King of kings is in the house and what He says will happen.

Matthew 9:23-25 (NKJV) When Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. 25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.

I truly want to go on, but we need to see about these three commands. Where do you need to make room?

Do you need to make room in your house?

Do you need to make room in your heart?

Do you need to make room in your mind?

Father, I come before You now. I open my life up to You. i invite You to be a part of my coming and my going. I invite You to cleanse me from the inside out. I open my heart to You. I receive Your outpouring of love. You demonstrate Your love for me every day. You minister life to me and restore my soul. I open my min to You. I ask for You to reveal any lie I believe and teach the truth. I ask for my mind to know Your word and exactly how to apply it to my life. Come, I am making room for You in my house, in my heart and in my mind in Jesus' name amen.
