The Touch of God, part 92

Warriors Arise: October 14, 2021

Matthew 9:27-30 (MSG) As Jesus left the house, he was followed by two blind men crying out, "Mercy, Son of David! Mercy on us!" 28 When Jesus got home, the blind men went in with him. Jesus said to them, "Do you really believe I can do this?" They said, "Why, yes, Master!" 29 He touched their eyes and said, "Become what you believe." 30 It happened. They saw.

Why would Jesus ask, "Do you really believe I can do this?" He didn't say, "Do you believe...", He asked, "Do you REALLY believe...". The extra emphasis may cause some people to waver but these two had finally found Jesus. They had finally come face to face with the one they had heard who had healed so many. All they had gone through in the last couple of hours, just to get to Jesus and here they are standing in front of Him. They couldn't see Him but they had heard enough of what Jesus could do to pursue Him. They wanted to be healed. No one else could help them, but they knew this man, Jesus, could.

When you pray, when you make your request to God, do you REALLY believe He can do it?

Before we pray, should we check our hearts to see if we really believe God can do it? In our minds, we know He can, which is why we praying without checking ourselves. However, if we really believe God can do it, meet the need, change the circumstance, bring the healing, and deliver His people, we would pray continually, in all situations, for all people.

How do we keep our faith alert, active and growing if we do not ask ourselves before we ask God, "Do I really believe He can do this?" There are times my faith is stretched. I have to ask myself before I pray, "What exactly do I want to ask for? What exactly do I believe God can do? Is what I am praying an "as it is in heaven" prayer?

If God were to interrupt your prayer and ask, "Do you really believe I can do this?" what would your response be? Would there be a pause while you thought about it?

Father, I want to pursue You like these two blind men. I want to know in my heart what I want to ask of You and that You can answer my request. I desire to release "Your kingdom come and Your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven." I want to be filled with the fullness of Your love. I want a testimony of what You have done to motivate me to believe for the miracle I need. You are faithful and patient. You listen to my request. I wonder if there are times You have asked, "Do you really believe I can do this"? I want to be full of faith and strong in relationship that I know without a shadow of a doubt that You can and will release Your demonstrative power into that particular situation in Jesus' name amen.
