Warriors Arise: October 18, 2021
Mark 9:25-27 (NKJV) When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” 26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.
Jesus is not about to let the demon get anymore "show time." He evaluated the situation and then got doing the family business, demonstrating the Father's love. The demon wanted to make a show of the way he had power over the boy, but Jesus put an end to the enemy ever doing that again to the boy. Not only did Jesus rebuke the unclean spirit, but commanded it to come out and "enter him no more!" That is the power of the God we serve.
All the "look-seers" were on the scene. They were ready to give their unsolicited opinion, "He is dead." But Jesus took control of the situation and took the boy by the hand; lifted him up and he arose.
When the situation is over, it is over. The boy was set free from the control of the unclean spirit. Jesus sealed the boy's freedom when He said, "Enter him no more!" No fear of the unclean spirit returning, because Jesus sealed his deliverance. I imagine the boy being a little dazed as his mind returned to him and wondering what happened. Jesus reached out and took the boy by the hand. The strength in His touch made everything perfect.
Father, Your love is amazing. You brought Jesus down from the mountain to free this boy from demonic torture. You desire for us to be free from demonic control, influence and depression. You know when our children are being thrown around by demons and the influences of the world. I ask for You to come and meet our children right where they are. I ask for You to rebuke the lying spirit and free their minds to know the truth of Your love. I pray You would take them by the hand so they would feel Your presence and the strength of Your purpose for their lives. I ask they walk clean of the influences of the demonic and the world. I pray they walking the fullness of Your love and purpose in Jesus name amen.
