Warriors Arise: January 30, 2023
1 Chronicles 15:11-13 (NKJV) And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites: for Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab. 12 He said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, that you may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel to the place I have prepared for it. 13 For because you did not do it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not consult Him about the proper order.”
There is a reason. Most of us want to know why. Why am I doing this? Why are you asking me? What is the purpose? These are legitimate questions to ask. We wonder why God wants us to humble ourselves for Him as He works through us and in us. He turns up the refiners fire and the impurities are exposed. There is a purpose. They are to be carriers of the God, the ark of the Lord, where the presence of God rests upon the Cheribim.
Proverbs 17:3 (NKJV) The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold,
But the Lord tests the hearts.
The Lord tests our hearts. You and I are more precious that silver, more costly than gold. God set the price for us to be His Son. His Son, the reigning King came down to rescue us. He paid for our ransom through His body being tortured on the cross. He paid willingly, because of the Father's love for you and I. He is the One who said, "It is finished." He took on our sin and now by the righteousness of Jesus' Christ, you and I are able to be in relationship with God. Not only that, we do not carry God on us, like the priests and the Levites did back in David's time, we carry God in us. How much more should we purpose in our heart to be purified and sanctified because we carry the Holy Spirit within us?
You would think we should be cleaner than the priest and the Levites of David's time; but we are human just like they were. The grace of God is mind boggling to me. How is it that the Holy Spirit is within me, when my sin is evident, within the fears I won't walk away from? This is grace. This is God's amazing grace. He sees me through the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. Everyday I have to resist fear. Everyday I have to make a choice to do what the Father is telling me to do. Everyday I have to submit to God, resist the devil so he will flee from me (James 4:7). Everyday I have to shut the mouth of the accuser of the brethren. I am equally baffled at the number of Christians who stand with the enemy and hold mali,ce in their hearts because of the judgement they have upon others. My heart aches for their freedom. I want their freedom for several of reasons:
1. The judgement only holds them in bondage.
2. It is a constant battle to resist being pulled down by their judgement. They are the crab in the bottom of the bucket pulling the crab trying to get out back down to he bottom of the bucket.
3. Their judgements weaken the Bride of Christ. We are not here to point out other's sins. When we point it out, we are agreeing with the enemy and he condemns. The Holy Spirit doesn't need our help. The Holy Spirit is the one who brings conviction. When we get in His way by judging others it only makes things worse.
4. Their judgements cause non-believers to judge the Bride of Christ. In Luke is says, Believers cause non-believers to blaspheme God.
5. Their judgements oppose God's Word which tells us to use His Word to build up, edify, exhort and disciple.
I realize when we put ourselves out there, people are trained to make a judgement. These priests and Levites were going to come under the judgement of the people. Why hadn't they already gone and retrieved the ark of the Lord? Why aren't they doing what God called them to do? Their inaction caused a man to die. When they go to be sanctified, they will have to repent for their neglect of position and purpose. Then they will be able to be sanctified and reinstated. The reason they must take ownership of their sin is so they can be cleansed of their unrighteousness. They have to let the fire of God reveal the hidden dross within their hearts and in their thinking. We go through the sanctification process, because on the other side we are reinstated to our position. We are established in our purpose. We are prepared to be carriers of the Holy Spirit and radiate the demonstrative power of God.
There is a reason to be sanctified, because lives are being lost when we are not in our position and fulfilling God's purpose for our lives.
Father, I ask for You to come. I pray for Your consuming fire to come and sanctify me. I ask for You remove what is not of You. I desire a pure heart and contrite spirit. My being yearns to be filled to overflowing with Your Spirit. I want to be carrying You in such a way that I am doing great exploits with You. I pray for Your love to be poured out in me and through me. You are faithful to cleanse me and renew a right spirit in me. I submit myself to You today and listen. I repent of my sins. I receive Your love. Today, I am made whole in You. Today, I will carry You. Today, others will see Your love through me in Jesus' name amen.
