Warriors Arise: July 25, 2023
Matthew 3:16 - 4:1 (NKJV) When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
I believe God. I believe Jesus. I believe the Holy Spirit. First, God demonstrated the need for man to live with the Holy Spirit. Jesus walked the earth as man. God gave Him the Holy Spirit before the Holy Spirit was led into the wilderness to defeat the devil. Then Jesus gives us the authority He walked in and the Holy Spirit. We too can defeat the devil. Third, I believe God. I believe Jesus. I believe the Holy Spirit.
James 1:17 (NKJV) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
I believe Jesus demonstrated the power to defeat the devil, so we would know, we too, can defeat the devil. We have been given the same power and authority as Jesus. We have been given the Holy Spirit. What the Holy Spirit did to empower Jesus, He also does for you and I. I believe what God has said. I believe what Jesus did and I believe God will give me the power and wisdom to defeat the devil. I believe, do you believe?
Father, I am so thankful Jesus was and is our example. He didn't try to defeat the devil in His own strength. He receive Your gift of the Holy Spirit and together they defeated the devil. I receive Your gift of the Holy Spirit. I will position myself to be filled every day. I never know when the enemy is coming to tempt me, so I want to be ready. I will embrace Your love, authority and gifts. I will use them to minister Your love to the people and defeat the devil. You are my strength. I will not walk alone. I will walk with the Holy Spirit in Jesus' name amen.
