Warriors Arise: June 15, 2021
2 Kings 2:9-10 (NKJV) And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” 10 So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”
Isaiah 61:7 (NKJV) Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
What did you do with yesterday's blog? If you didn't get a chance to read it then go to my webpage or facebook page. It is important. If you read it, did you bless your home, your spouse, your children, your work...? Today, will return for a double portion of the blessing.
Boaz blessed his workers.
His workers blessed him in return. And it was great year of harvest.
The people at the gate and the elders blessed Boaz. And Ruth bore him a son. The women of the town say Ruth, a daughter-in-law, is better than having 7 sons! That is huge in a society where sons were everything to the family legacy.
The women of the town blessed Naomi and she became the nurse to her grandson.
We need to learn and administer the power of the blessing each day. Yesterday's blog covers several areas in which we can bless our lives and the lives of others. According to Deut. 28:12 we are to bless the work of our hands. We also can bless our health. There is so much in depth understanding, even revelation, to plant into our daily lives so we live the blessed life Jesus came to earth to give us.
Jesus demonstrated the blessed life every day, even the day He walked to the cross and his death. The strength it took for Him to trust what would happen on the other side. People fear death becuase they do not know what is on the other side. I happen to believe what God says in His word, so you can't scare me with death because I know heaven is waiting for me. I know God will welcome me with open arms, not because I have lived a perfect life but because I am His daughter. His love for me is not based on my "perfection" as believers, as non-believers may think. Non-believers don't want to be held to perfection because they think it takes all the fun out of this life. However, they fail to see God is fun. He gets us through the hard times. He blesses those who will receive, and He is waiting to throw us a party when we get to heaven, not because we have lived the perfect life. It is because we are His children. No matter how upset I may be with the decisions my children are making, when it is time to celebrate them, I do not hold back the celebration just because they have been persnickety or tried every last nerve. I find a way to bless them and restore hope to their future. The power of our blessing is able to accomplish so much for those who not only believe, but for those who receive. We can look back in history at Abraham and Sarah. God spoke into existence something that wasn't as though it was. God spoke, as if it was no big deal for Sarah to bare a child. But Abraham and Sarah had tried. They wanted a child. They wanted a son. In their old age, when women were past the child-barring age, God says she will conceive a child.
Romans 4:16-22 (NKJV) Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
It isn't just that we believe in Jesus, acknowledge God as our Father and the wisdom given by the Holy Spirit. It is that we believe in the power of the blessing. We believe in grace that covers a multitude of sins. Abraham was not perfect but one thing he did do right, he believed God when God spoke. Therefore, he receive the blessing God was giving him. It is extremely difficult to bless someone based on their past or even current behavior, when we do not think they are making good choices. However, when we bless like God's blesses there is power released.
The power of the blessing breaks the chains that hold a person back and propels them forward into their destiny.
The power of the blessing removes the thistle and thorns and toil so that they are accomplished and prosperous in their work.
The power of the blessing abolishes the reproach of past mistakes and gives favor upon one's life.
The power of the blessing cuts the bondage of rebellion and restores honor.
The power of the blessing restores broken relationships.
The power of the blessing acts like a seed in our lives as we give in full to another.
Father, I want to be a person who believes the blessings You speak over me. There are times when You have had someone speak a blessing over me and I have totally rejected it. I didn't know how to receive it. I didn't know it was possible. I decided I wasn't worthy of such a blessing or I had not been faithful the last time or I didn't think I could handle the blessing You wanted to give me. I ask for You to forgive me. I stand ready to believe the blessings You have spoken to me throughout my past. I also want to know how to release, speak forth blessings into another's life. I do not want to puff them up with empty praise or promises. I want to speak forth the blessing You desire to empower them into their destiny, strength is they are weak, health for their latter years, a sound mind, ear to hear You and eyes to see what You have before us. I want to go beyond encouraging people to releasing the blessing of heaven into their lives in Jesus' name amen.
